ixledexi:  Go up to Shenzhen or Guangzhou. They are like freaking wedding dress wonderlands! If you can speak Chinese, you can work directly with shop owners and see if they can create the dress you envision.

Here’s my beauty! I placed the order April 14th and received my mid pro photos May 9th. The left is shop 2.0s work. The right is the skirt I wanted.

Again, the skirt style I wanted on the right.

The lace I requested on the right is the same as in the inspiration photo on the left.

I wanted a light champagne silk under the lace and not too low of a bust cut. Imo I think the skirt should be higher and it needs to look more ruffled like the inspiration photos show. I’m not too sure of the length of the train in the mid pro photos as I wasn’t sent a pic of the train. The pearl beading hasnt been put on just yet. I specified no shiny or shimmery skirt whatsoever…but I think it appears shiny vs matte, or am I seeing the flash?

What do you guys think? Spam me with EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you have about the inspiration and the custom gown 😀 This work is by Destiny btw (although we think they only take our order requests and pass them onto dress makers). I’m ecstatic about the outcome so far

ristai01:  If you got the skirt in tulle, there is no shine, I have a tulle sample and tested it out in several different lights and it has no shine or shimmer to it. It could just be the way the lighting looks reflecting on the netting?

The skirt looks pretty good, but the original photo the skirt layer looks much shorter at the top and it looks like a hump instead of the skirt straight across. and the lace patteren is bigger, i think, on the original. But the dress is still very pretty.

I have been working on shop A and it has been amazing. I haven’t even started my order yet and just wow.

haileyelizabeth:  Thanks!! I don’t know how to emphasize to shop 2.0 how much I really want the skirt on the original – it’s got this cool layer effect and looks like a ‘hump’ as you said. I asked them to add more layers near the top of the skirt in order so it begins near my thighs or next to my hands if that makes any sense, so it sits a bit higher above the knees and not directly by the knees. I will ask about whether the skirt is matte or not. Hopefully it is, as I had specified this to them. I will be adding a petticoat to give it some “umph.”

ristai01:  maybe try drawing the ‘hump’ in paint or tracing it in the inspo picture and show about where you want the skirt to start? I’ve had to draw on my inspo to show a few things, she understood with the pictures.

what do you do when you are 2 months out from your wedding, dress is already 1 month late, and you hate the final pictures. The Company is trying hard to work with me, but the pictures are so awful and look so diffrent from the orginal dress that I really feel there is nothing they can do to fix it.   Am I wrong to leave the company and go to another? What do I tell them?

(If I leave, I have decided to go with shop 2.0, and they have already agreed to work with me in my limited amount of time)

ristai01:  I actually think it’s still Cherry replying.  She told me last night that she was planning to still make dresses but do her own work but it would take time.  Her user name was also changed to Pepe on WhatsApp.

Who knows?!?
