observer :  Thanks for your reply.  I had really wanted a mermaid style because I lack curves so I’m disappointed in the dress so far.  Do you think I could alter it to be more fitted in the hips and thights, and then wear a crinoline underneath?  I don’t need major mermaid poof going on, just some more shape and a more obvious flare instead of straight down.

cheesecakelover :  Maybe see about them adding the pleats?  If you do not want them, 100% sure. Maybe see if they can take in the sides? But Im not sure if it would be comfortable to walk in.

cheesecakelover :  those “pleats” (which aren’t technically pleats, but just the fabric folding in on itself because of the mermaid shape – they’ll disappear with the right slip) are cause by there being more fabric on the bottom than on the leg, which creates the mermaid shape. without them, you have a straight shape. it’s not possible to have a mermaid shape with no “pleats” without a crinoline slip to pouf it out. if you take out the “pleats” you have a sheath.

that said, if you’re intrested in a slight mermaid, i do think that you could get more shape out of it by adding a crinoline and taking in the leg/hip to be tighter. but be sure to purchase this BEFORE you have the length altered, as it will shorten your dress a bit.

ETA: if you’re lacking curves, I don’t think a mermaid style is really what you want anyway. It won’t give you curves – it will only highlight your lack thereof (since its fitted to your shape). Mermaids are really great at flaunting curves and balancing large hips..not at creating curves where there are none.

sivette30 :  No. 😢 DHL said they tried to deliver it last night but couldn’t find the right road? So I had to call DHL and double check the address Anty gave them. So now it says it’ll be delivered today.

haileyelizabeth :  How did you place your order with Shop 2.0? What online form do they use? I have been working with Anty and she seems great so far.

nerdyjilly :  Once you confirm what you want with whoever is chatting with you, they’ll send you a link to your specific gown and it’ll be like buying anything else in their store.  You’ll click on the “BUY IT NOW” button and that’s it.

I got it!! I love it! It is exactly like I hoped it would. It is heavy, though. 😍 the only thing I see that is what how I asked was the beading on the lace. I told her I didn’t want any… But theres some on it. BUT!!!! im happy she did. Its gorgeous.

haileyelizabeth :  OoOoOO! Glad it worked out well for you!!! 😀 I like! How is the skirt looking – matte or shiny? I can’t tell if it’s tulle?

I went to my seamstress today just to see if she can find a way for me to sit comfortably in it. Not happening. I should try it on with some Spanx…maybe that’ll fix the issue. In addition to that, she will also cinch the sides of the bust as it’s loose in those areas since I’d measured with my bra on when I placed the order….stupid of me.

My skirt is also heavy. Seamstress suggested what I mentioned earlier -sewing on a loop to the bottom of the train and wearing the loop on my wrist when needed. If I have the train attached to a button on my dress like yours, it’ll put unnecessary weight on my gown and I’d be pulling it up the whole night. It’s heavy as it is.

cheesecakelover :No harm in giving it a go! If it doesn’t work then just remove the crinoline.

Hi bees. I’m completely new here but have read up tons on dresses. Could someone please be so lovely to send me details about the shops discussed here? Thanks very much in advance!
