caligirl0011:  the shop has done the dress you are wearing in the photo with the veil. No photos n/c they were lost back in the great purge.

fscarlett:  thanks. I actually already paid for that dress. I had second thoughts the day after, but the bridal store wouldnt offer a refund or anything.

the dress was $1000 under budget, so i think I’m going to get a custom dress from the shop and decide when I have both dresses. Then I’ll sell one of them.

Arrrrggghhhhhhhhhhh – THE SHOP!

I am so upset.  They blew the deadline on my mid production photos and instead of owning up to it, they are trying to make it my fault.  I could see this one coming last week, but I did not want to accuse them of anything and thought – they must have more integrity than this.

On March 4, my consultant emailed me that she is “resending” an email about my dress because she did not receive a response.  Typically, if you are resending an email – you will just forward the old email to show that it was sent – but NOPE, there was no old email.  I responded to her within 24 hours – answered her questions about my dress and told her that I did not receive an email from her.  This was about one week before my mid production photos were “guaranteed.”

I just knew it was a set up because the question was about a substantial part of the dress, and if they were only asking that question now, there is no way they would have mid production photos in a week.  Anyway, I did not want to accuse them prematurely, so I said nothing.  Sure enough, my mid pro photos deadline came and NOTHING – no email, no communication, NOTHING.  I followed up TWICE with my consultant before she finally came up with the BS that because I did not respond to an email that was NEVER sent, they are moving my date by 12 days.  What???!!! Again, where is the email that you claimed you sent?  Why is it that out of ALL the numerous emails we have exchanged, this is the ONLY ONE I did not receive?  Because it was never sent!

That is really low down.  I don’t know if my consultant forgot to ask the question and is making it up or if the shop blew the deadline and they are trying to cover themselves.  Either way, someone is not telling the truth.  I would have so much more respect if they fessed up and said, this is the situation – we know we promised you your photos on x date, but we are behind, or I forgot to ask you this question (or whatever), but we are working as fast as we can and we will make up the time in another way.  Or Something!  But no – they had to come up with this nonsense that anyone with half a brain can see right through.

SO DISAPPOINTING.  I have always said they do great work and I hope the end product makes up for this nonsense.  But at this point, I don’t know if it will be worth it.  I will keep you guys posted as this unfolds.

iDesigner:  I’m sorry to hear you’re having troubles with the shop.

I think the issue here is that in china they don’t really have “customer service” like we do in western countries. They don’t know how to comfort customers or understand the need to.

is your dress on a tight timeline? if not, I would try not to worry and just be patient. Seeing everyone else’s dresses has me pretty convinced they do a great job! I’m sure it will be okay!

caligirl0011:  Thank you. You somehow made me feel better lol.

But this is really bad. I am on a tight deadline – I need the dress by beginning of June.  My order has six weeks rush because my consultant was acting REALLY iffy about when the dress could be completed, and I did not want to be stressing at the last minute.

The mid production date is important because the rush applies only prior to mid production.  After that, they told me there is no guarantee of when the dress will be complete.

iDesigner:  ah, crap. I would be worried too. It IS still only mid march though. That’s 2.5  months to get it.

That being said, the stress of not knowing if it’s coming will probably be killing you. I highly suggest looking for a cheap backup dress, and at least knowing your options ahead of time. If mid may comes around with no dress, then I would purchase one.

but, I would not* give up completely. I would just remind then that you need it (I hope u told them by an earlier date than is actual) by insert date. Offer more money even?

It will look beautiful when it does arrive tho. So keep on them! Good luck.

Zelda1:  CONTRI: I actually ordered a beaded sash to go with the dress but I haven’t seen mid-production photos of the beaded sash. I’ve contacted my consultant regarding this and she’s looking into it now. She found the picture of the beaded sash in the original order – hopefully this won’t delay the shipment of the dress. I don’t really care for the plain sash they keep putting on this dress either.

@unfathomly: I haven’t decided on a veil yet, but think you for the suggestion! I will definitely look into that.

Has anyone seen or had made a very detailed veil by the shop? I have fallen in love with an Oscar de la Renta veil I obviously cant afford!

YAHOO! 😀 I just got my mid-production photos back for a red dress I am having made by THE SHOP. This is the inspiration dress:

My dress is going to be shorter than the original, and red. 🙂 Here are my mid-production photos.

So far I have decided I want the v raised up a little/some lace added for modesty. I was thinking maybe a few more lace pieces on the back as well, but otherwise I think it looks awesome. Any suggestions/thoughts?
