ThePearlsBee:  aaargh!! I emailed them tonight and she said cuz my dress is heavily beaded it will be still a little while as they are still working on it!! All I want to do now is show my bridesmaids!

Anyhow! On the side note, did anyone tell anyone else that you ordered your dress from a different factory then the bridal store itself? I’ve only told my best friend that this dress is made in China.. I feel like being judged by others.. I will see how the dress turns out and if I have good reactions I might tell my bridesmaids. My mom would not like it one bit as she told me not to order one out of China! Ugh.. Hopefully I’m going to like the dress!

berchiena:  Can you post your inspiration dress with the beadwork?

I’m trying to decide if I want to go the near-replica route (would make minor changes to the design) but as the dresses I like are very simple sheaths with LOTS of beadwork I’m very very nervous!! (I posted inspiration pics on page 21 I think?)

Bees who have gotten there dresses already – what is the quality of the beading? I’m not a fan of sequins so would want proper glass beads.

berchiena:  I’m in the same predicament. I’ve told my best friend what I’m doing (she also got her dress from China, but just ordered straight from a website, so she understands); my other bridesmaid is a little pretentious and I feel like even if she doesn’t say anything, her tone might make me feel bad about my choice so haven’t told her. She wouldn’t do it on purpose, I know this.. But I would hate it if I then started having second thoughts about the dress. I told mum and dad and they’re very supportive.. My fiance wanted me to spend the money and buy from a bridal store but when I showed him the high quality of some of the replicas, (and how expensive the originals really are) he jumped on board.

But yeah, I feel like there are quite a few misconceptions about ordering online, especially because there are so many horror stories associated with it..

Bottom line is, I don’t want anyone to make me feel bad about my choices for my wedding, whether accidentally or on purpose.. So, I’m choosing who to share this with and who not to..

On a side note, what store did you place your order with? 2.0 with Cherry or?

marinab:  I so agree! One doesn’t know as she always tries to be the better one and she just got married! And is judgemental! Probably doesnt mean it either but still not very nice! So I only told my one best friend!! I am showing this other bridesmaid once the dress comes in (if I like it).. So it will be a surprise for her!! I did order from 2.0.. where did you order from?

Zelda1:  OMG so fast and exciting! Love it! I would preffer the beeds to be in the same color of the dress but i can’t really tell the full effect of ivory beeds on a white dress. And the original one has a 4th row of glass beeds (you can see it in the pic i sent you a few time ago) but i think that all pearls might look better!

berchiena:  I told everyone that I ordered my dress online from China. I was embarrassed at first and got a couple weird looks (mostly from my own mom), but everyone was on board once I showed them pictures.

I’m posting the latest about my replica journey for the benefit of those considering the “USA” shop and SHOP2. I ordered my dress from USA shop 5 months ago and still haven’t received it. Panicking as I was, I ordered a backup from SHOP2 and they turned it around in 15 days + 3 days’ postage from China to the US, for 1/3 the price I was paying for my original replica choice. They sent me the photos on the mannequin before shipping, I requested no changes. The dress is beautiful, I am very happy with it, it’s light and flowy, the material is soft and doesn’t look cheap at all, the beading, embroidery and detail is impeccable and it fits well but is way too big around the bust and tight on the thighs, plus it needs to be shortened at the front. I took it to the seamstress today for alterations and have added some pictures with the dress on. Comms with SHOP2 was good, they understood my request very well and although they went quiet on me at times (which raised doubts in me) they did deliver what they promised, exactly in the timeline agreed.

marinab:  I feel like that very often. I have told a few people, but when people ask me where I’m getting my dress from, I just reply “custom made”. Less talk that way.

Fifa1:  this is lovely!!!!

How is the lace? Is it high quality?

Do you know when your USA shop dress is getting here? I would love to see a comparison.
