MrsG2BIre:  I purchased some fabric samples from THE SHOP a couple of years ago. Their premium grade satin (silky satin) has a shiny finish and reminds me of a good grade of lining fabric in appearance, thickness and how it falls. Their designer grade satin has a soft lustre finish, is thicker than the premium grade, and falls more like a traditional satin. Their #01 satin is a typical off-white color, #58 is a typical blush color, #70 is a typical ivory and #71 is a richer ivory. They call #70 and #71 champagne, which could also describe them (I’ve seen so many variations of wedding dress “Champagne” that it really is open to interpretation at this point).

Zelda1:  first off your dress is amazing and you have some serious design skill! Those cups are what all bees want with that style and can’t get! Amazing!

thanks so much for the input. Its silky satin #20. Which surprised me since the swatch looks so dark And shiny. It’s so hard to tell with diff lighting. I may have to order some swatches or play it safe and just go for ivory.

VeryHappyMom:  I know your info was for another bee but it was pretty helpful for me as well. Would you say the silky satin is softer and flowy? Im planning on using satin or silky satin for my dress but with a lace overlay and would like it to be lighter since I’m getting married in mexico:) but maybe it doesn’t matter since the lace will be overtop anyway?

you said it was awhile back when you got the swatches but do you remember if #58 was really pink or just a soft hint of pink?

Larik:  hi bees and especially Larik,

So the shop doing my dress actually managed to do molded cups, finally, after lots of back and forth. I helped them with the pictures Larik posted on thread 6 or 7, with how she made her own cups- otherwise it seems like they just don’t get it. My dress is now almost a month late, but I like it a heck of a lot better now.

Before pictures

After pictures ( I would prefer some space between the cups, but I’m just tired of arguing with them at this point.)

Please tell me what you guys think!
