@toBeMrsPierce: Haha, that is awesome–those sleeves are insane! My mom’s dress is from the 70s and has these crazy long lace bell sleeves, I definitely don’t think it stands the test of time too well either.

@toBeMrsPierce:

You could definitely make alterations to that dress, and make it gorgeous. I love the lace on the top, just without the sleeves. Something can also be done with the skirt, and bodice too. Just an idea!

@toBeMrsPierce: That dress looks like my moms dress. She was also jokingly hinting for me to wear hers. Everytime I think of it though, especially with the veil, I think of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and her dress and how she says, “I’m a snow beast.”

The very first dress I tried on was The One but I had to look at a few others (about 5 after The One) just to make sure I didn’t get home and feel like I didn’t look at my options. I didn’t get pictures of two (I didn’t even come out; they had no chance at all) but here were two that for sure didn’t make the cut.

This one wasn’t too bad but didn’t look as good as The One

This one was just horrible

@toBeMrsPierce: Haaa! I love this! My mom and aunt really tried to force me to “try on” my moms wedding dress (which looks a lot like your moms). I had to say flat out no I am absolutely not putting it on! I cant believe you did, that was really sweet of you to give it a shot!!

LOL this thread it fun.  Here are some of my disasters.  The worst part of it is that I actually CONSIDERED some of these dresses when I was at the store – up until I sat down and looked at the pictures.  This is why I would never buy a dress if they don’t let me take pictured and think it over.

Ok, here are some of the dresses I tried. I actually tried them on after I had ordered my dress (I was having second thoughts :p). These actually helped me realize I had made the right choice 🙂

This one looks pretty, but I didn’t like the texture of the fabric:

This one was just plain to me and I didn’t like how it looked up close:

This one impressed the consultant. She thought this was the dress for me, and it was very pretty and all, but I wasn’t convinced. It made me feel like I had big hips :s

None of these was my dress. If you want to know which dress I chose (hehe):

@MsBrooklynA Yes I agree in the picture it looks gorgeous and red carpet ready, but trust me in person it is anything but! But well everyone has their own taste and for me this was a no no.

Ok so I loved this dress at first, until looking at the pictures later. I showed them to a friend and she pointed out that when I wasn’t standing on the podium I looked like I was 4 feet tall! I am 5’6 but this dress was definately made for someone who was taller and had a longer torso.

@FutureMrs.Rodriguez:

Same thing happened to me with so many dresses! I totally understand. I guess that’s why they put the podiums right there. The funniest part what to see the salesperson trying to convince me I looked fabulous when we both knew I didn’t haha.
