Of course you can find a “wow dress” for under 3K! It’s not what you’ve got, it’s what you do with it!
Never can be too surprised with how warped a person’s perspective can get. Money can’t buy good design sense.

My wow dress is Alfred Angelo 2083, priced at 849 and I purchased it on sale with 125 off…so, 725 before alterations!

mine was only $600 from Kleinfeld, I went to a sample blowout sale and struck gold, exactly what I wanted, intricate beaded bodice and ballroom style with a bustle, some embroidery and beading on the hem; I had to have it altered but it still cost so much less than full price at Kleinfeld I was so lucky because it was the dress of my dreams, it was inexpensive yet exactly what I wanted and and I bought it at Kleinfeld where I always wanted to buy my own as soon as I put it on I was bawling my eyes out, my sis said that’s the one! I’ve never beena big designer person, if it looks good on my body and is in my price range, boom I’m getting, I absolutely loved my gown, i wish I could get married again and use it again (with same hubby of course)

My mom went crazy pants when we first started looking, and she told me I could spend up to $3,000. We went to five different bridal stores in Indiana, and the most expensive dresses we saw were $1,500. I don’t think people do over $3,000 in my state!
Mine actually was $1,500, but I’m not sure what alterations will be like yet.

Hah it’s funny because I actually went to Kleinfelds and found my dress there, and it was $2100. And I probably tried on 10 different dresses in that price range. Love Sarah, great consultant. Here it is on the model:

HAHA I was watching that too, this guy lives on another plane!, I’ve seen so many dresses – gorgeous ones under 1K. It’s obvious they just try to make brides spend more convinving them that “wow” comes with $$$.

Here’s mine. Got it for $700 and even with alterations, it will still come in under 1k. Now I understand it doesn’t have lace or a whole lot of bling, but I’m adding a swarovski piece just under the bust, and I think the ruffles will look amazing in the wind (getting married at the beach).
Just goes to show you, lace, taffetta and bling aren’t everything. The most important is the construction of the dress… everything after that is just details.
