How much did you spend on your wedding? What got counted in your wedding budget? For instance, I was originally thinking that I wouldn’t count my dress as part of our budget, because it was so expensive. I felt like it was sort of unfair of me to have such a pricey dress when I should have been more budget conscious. So initially I wasn’t going to include those costs (dress, shoes, veil, makeup artist) in our budget. But Darling Husband mentioned that he thought it should be included. He might change his mind when he finds out how much it costs though!
Anyway, here’s the breakdown for us (wedding in South Florida, 60 people total). There’s probably more that I’ve forgotten.
Venue rental $800
Chair rental $120
Centerpieces for reception $40 each x 6 = $240
Bouquets for me and 2 bridesmaids = $100
Boutonnieres 3 x $10 = $30
Corsages 2 x $20 = 40
His wedding clothes = $250
My dress, veil, shoes = $1600
Makeup artist = $60
Marriage license $100
Photographer (8 hours + engagement shoot) = $1600
Plane tix for us to get there $540
My hotel cost (he stayed at parents’ house) = $339
Plane tix for my parents and my brother and his g.f. = $1200
Reception = $4000 (his parents paid)

Wow you counted plane tix for your parents, brother and his gf as a part of your wedding costs? Does that mean you paid their tickets? That is super nice of you.

@bridalprincess: Well, we still haven’t decided yet what gets counted and what does not. We’ll probably go over it all this week. However, since the wedding was held in his hometown, we think we should cover the cost of plane tix for my family. If we had had it where my parents live, we would have covered the plane tix for his family.
I forgot to add one more expense–we paid for the plane ticket and hotel for our officiant (one of our best friends) and the hotel for another one of our best friends. That’s another $500. Yeeks.

Ha! The invites and std were the first things we bought without shopping around because we were so excited. So yes they are fabulous but I wish we hadn’t jumped the gun. The actual invites aren’t in yet but the std are similar. Here are a few pics :).
