Hi Bees,

I’m getting married in NYC on 01/15/10.  My current color scheme (it seems to change daily) is olive and teal.  I’m using a peacock feather as inspiration, but I keep bouncing around between the many colors in the feather…  This is my first try at an "inspiration board"…

A few notes – I own the clutch (top left, and love it to death – this is also serving as an inspiration).  The dress (middle top) is the one I’ve decided on in "diamond white".  Teal shoes would be my "something blue" – teal’s sort of blue, right? The ties (top right) would be olive with paler olive silk screening, the girls’ dresses would be olive with teal pashminas.  Re: centerpieces (bottom right), I would go with cream colored flowers & nix the feathers covering the vase.

Thoughts? Our venue is very neutral & is providing us with ivory linens.

Can’t wait to see other people’s inspirations!

Lovely!  Rich and beautiful.

Our colors are similar, with a tropical twist…appropriate for our Caribbean nuptials: Tiffany blue/aqua and kiwi/spring green, too funny

@ Spwingal – nice tutorial.  πŸ™‚  I may use ppt if inspiration strikes at work!  πŸ™‚  At least then I can pretend I’m working.  πŸ™‚ I love the black/ivory color scheme – if our venue wasn’t so neutral, we’d have gone with something along those lines.  We need the pop though.

@ BeachyBride – so funny – date twins and nearly the same colors!  I bet yours is going to be lovely and warm!

@ Bananapants –  (awesome name, btw) that sweater is adorable!  Thanks for sharing!

@ Doctorgirl – great links – thanks for posting!

Oh my!! I adore the sweater STDs!

I know in my head what I’m going for, but I am procrastinating on making the leap into full on planning! This is great, though, because when you say winter wedding to most people, they’re like "oooohhhh…snowflakes!" Not really what I’m going for…..

I’m loving the inspiration boards posted above. My colors are silvery white and black and very, very light ice blue with pops of blood red (the only way I can describe the right shade of rich dark red).

So, yeah, I should probably get a move on!

We were suppose to get married in February but because of illness had to cancel.  But we were doing a snowflake theme.  I had white, silver and teal as our colors.  We were going to get married in a theatre so we had plastic rolls that were going to be put up as a canopy which looked awesome.  Then in the center we were going to do flocked wreaths and large beautifull icicles hanging.  Our centerpieces were easy.  We had flocked wreaths that I dusted with small iridescent glitter and then put mini teal and silver snowflake ornaments all around in the wreath and flocked pine cones.  So many options for the center of the wreaths large candle, martini glasses on mirrors, etc but we chose to wrap mason jars with snowflake tulle and wrap a riboon around it and then we put in blue glow sticks it was going to look beautifull.  I just love the snowflake and greenery mix and plus it is really nice to get good deals during christmas time and since everyone puts christmas out in septmeber lots of sales especially walmart, michaels, hobby lobby.  I have lots of pictures of ideas I had for ours.  I made our own invitations I will have to see if I can get pictures.  But on the top of our invitation it said..  "Snowflakes are one of God’s most fragile things, but just look at what they can do if they stick together"

I will see if I can post some picture Ideas:)

I’m also getting married 1/8, but in FL, so my wedding inspirations have actually been more like palm trees and sand!  Congrats to all!
