i have no where else to vent! i went to the post office to send out our lovely, well thought out invitations and found out that the postage had been miscalculated. i took the invites before i special ordered the CUSTOM (ie expensive) stamps in a beautiful hydrangea theme to weigh them and INSURE beyond all doubt that i was ordering the right postage. after the beautiful calligraphy was finished i assembled the invites and am completely in love with the whole package. so when i took them to be mailed this morning????? yup, wrong postage. i needed to add 10cents. this led to a mini-post office meltdown and my first official bridezilla moment. of course, the only stamp in a 10cent denomination is a lovely camouflage motif. yeah, not going there. had to reorder (rush order) a second stamp in my design to add on. yesterday, the cake bakery burned to the ground. today, this…. i am afraid for tomorrow.

Wow, sounds super frustrating! But you also already solved your problem about the postage, so at least there’s some silver lining. Good luck with the new stamps!

So sorry! If it’s any consolation I probably would’ve lost it at the post office too 🙂

I hear ya — my little sister took the invites to the post office, all with pretty stamps with two gold rigns and roses…. and had to add 10 cents.
So the additional 10 cent stamp? A blue goat. Yes, a picture of a blue, horned and bearded billy goat. We didn’t have any time to buy more or order more themed stamps for the additional funds, so blue goats it is.
So we’re going to work that into our thank you cards — maybe make some with a photoshop of us and the goat or something. It’s actually pretty funny, now.
Good luck, there’s always going to be something, but it will be a story later.

I know its so not helpful to say this – but just know that you WILL laugh about this (really hard) someday. Hopefully all the kinks are happening now so that your actual wedding, day nothing goes wrong! Hang in there.

i always say with the post office – triple check their work. Ask each clerk to weigh it and go to multiple offices. I was terrified that they’d lose our invitations that needed to be hand cancelled, considering that they couldn’t figure out the paperwork and “lost” our engagement and wedding rings. 2 different shipments. And then they lost the paperwork to get the fees reimbursed after all that stress. I have had a few meltdowns in the post office, considering i’ve already spent 30-60 minutes waiting in a line before finding out these things. I have no faith in the post office and am willing to pay extra now to only use UPS and fedex. I’m such a hater! I’m sorry galore that your experience there sucked too.
