I’m thinking about getting a photo postcard for our Thank You cards and writing a personalized message on the back. I would rather do a postcard because I like a flat card rather than a folded card. Just a personal preference- easy to put on fridge w/ magnet or on a cork board and with a folded card, I feel more pressure to write a long note to cover up the empty space on the inside. I would however send the postcard in an envelope. I wouldn’t want it to get ruined in the mail or have USPS read my note. Would you think this is tacky or ok if you received this?

We have received several personalized thank-you postcards, and I’ve always loved getting them. I think they’re perfectly fine!

I don’t think they are tacky, as long as there is a personalized note (like you said you were planning on.) I think it can be a bit awkward to have the note on the outside for anyone to read, but honestly, I don’t think postal workers care or even read the postcards.
You could always do a flat card in an envelope like many save the dates.

Perfectly fine! I’d be happy with a note on pretty note paper too! It’s the thank you that matters IMO

We did this and it came out fabulous and our guests loved it!!!! We put a formal wedding picture on the front, wrote a personal note on the back of each one and mailed them in envelopes. Our guests loved them because they can be framed and several of our guests did just that. I say go for it!!!
We used Vistaprint…cheap and easy! Good luck

As long as you write a personalized note, then I love the idea! I’ve gotten some generic ones… Don’t love that – but, I think postcards are super cute as long as it’s heartfelt 🙂

Not tacky at all. Perfectly acceptable!

Maybe if you have family that is old-fashioned send them a “normal” card (such as the elderly) but the rest could get the postcatd, it’s also “green” because of less paper!
