I decided to make postcards instead of doing a wish tree/advice tree, etc. I’ve been thinking about it, and I’m worried no one will actually mail the postcards even if they already have stamps on them.
Now, I have been thinking about putting a mailbox on the table, so they could write on the postcard and then put it in the mailbox. My mom or someone from the wedding party could then just mail us the postcards instead of giving the guests the burden of it.
My mom has a really old mailbox. It’s glass and really unique. But there’s a crack on the inside of it, and I don’t know if I should use it anwyay. Here’s some pictures of the mailbox. The crack is on the right side on the front. Also the crack is on the inside of the mailbox, so I won’t have to worry about someone getting hurt from it.

Would you use the mailbox anyway even though there’s a crack in it? My wedding isn’t really vintage or anything like that, just in case that matters.
And here’s our postcard just because I can.

This is a good idea. I knew someone that did postcards in a mailbox instead of a guest book, so you already have the names and addresses on the card, and can write your thank yous and mail them out.

I Love the mailbox! And your postcard! That is such a great idea. I’m not sure the crack matters. You could always nestle it in with a vase of flowers? – but I don’t really think you need to do that.

Thank you both! I think it’s really unique, but I don’t want people to say, “Why is there a broken mailbox on the table?”

Well, I know what you mean. I wish I could think of a way to hide the crack, but I can’t. I’m not sure wrapping ribbon around it, would work.
I still love the mailbox, though. Would people really notice? Isn’t the age part of the charm?

@Ms Marple: At first I was thinking about a ribbon, but the crack is in a bad place for ribbon. I’m still trying to decide what to do. I bet a lot of people won’t notice, but it’s still worrying me a little.
I wish I could find a way to disguise it!
