I think it depends. One of my friends is serving abroad right now and if she got engaged, I would love her to post video, since her family and friends are all in the states. However, that’s about all I can think of.

I think a picture or two (top and side) is just enough to say “Hey I’m engaged”

L.O.L.

A photo (*A* photo) is fine.  Video?  Of a stationary object?  That’s a little TOO much.

I think I would honestly *face palm* as I lifted my face from my palm I would delete this “friend” as clearly we’re polar opposites I would be mortified for them.

Not gonna lie I would watch the video because I would want to see, but I would also think it was a bit much and would NEVER do that myself.

A video?  Of just the ring?  I might suffocate because I’d be laughing so hard I wouldn’t be able to breathe.  Who would DO that???

Wow, I would have to ask this person what prompted her to do such a thing.

Would the girl be slowly waiving the ring around so that it catches different light? lol.

I love seeing peoples rings, so I would love to see a youtube video of a friends ring if I wasnt able to see in it person. I, personally would never do it, but mostly because I dont know how to post stuff on youtube 😀

@luckyprincess: That’s exactly what I was thinking… “Does it do stuff on its own?”

@Baileyh: Wtf.  It’s not even in focus.  This is my pet peeve – why show anyone a photo (or video) of ANYTHING, especially something as detailed as a ring, if nobody can actually SEE the frigging thing?  It’s nonsense.  And this video is so long!  Why do I need to see an hour of you waving your blurry hand about?  Omg it’s the height of self-absorption.  I think my head might explode.

I notice that most of the “my engagement ring” threads in youtube are all from honker diamond rings 😛

But if someone did it IRL, i’d think it was one of those cheesy QVC or moissanite ads meant to prove how sparkly their product really is! Buy it now! You won’t regret it!
