I am on minestrin for over 2 years I was on alesse before and it didn’t have enough progestrin. I don’t have any side effects though I can’t not skip more then one period by taking it continuously or I will have spotting after the second period.

A lot of drs will have a chart where you can point out our side effects and it will tell you if you need more or less estrogen or progestrin in your pill, that’s how my dr figured out what to switch to from aleese

I am on Cryselle, the generic of Lo’Ovral. I have been on it a few years total (I will have been on it a year this March after taking a very long break from it after dropping out of college) and it is amazing. My periods went from 7 days to 3 and I had excessively painful cramps (Like, take days off work/stay home from school bad.) and I have none. I have no mood swings and my face cleared up. It has upped my libido and I feel great on it. I have had zero side effects.

I’ve been on Loestrin since I was about 15- I went from having regular periods with bad cramps to less than 3 periods per year with very very mild cramps.

@WhatMaeBee:  I use the generic Yaz called Gianvi. I have been on it for about 5 yrs and I love it. I switched to a new one for a little bit a few years ago because I was worried about the issues with blood clots that I had heard with Yaz. Turns out I don’t have any of these problems and most BCs with estrogen have that as a side effect in some women, so I switched back. I used to have a really bad problem with acne in HS and even took Acutane, so when I was on the other BC my acne started to come back, but I have no problems with acne on Gianvi. I also have really short periods (1-2 days), and they are very light. I hope you find one that works for you!

I’ve been on Tri-Sprintec for 7 years now, and I love it. I’ve never had any problems with it whatsoever, and it’s only 9 bucks a month without insurance, so that’s awesome. It’s the only type of BC I’ve ever taken. Without BC my periods are 2 weeks long, and the pill fixed it immediately! Now they are only 3-4 days, MUCH lighter, and I never have any breakthrough spotting or weight gain that some people get with BC. It is a triphasic pill, though, so it might not work for you if that is what was causing your side effects.

I am on Lo Loestrin and I love it.  I have no side affects to it and I don’t get a period.  It is literally like not have a menstrual cycle at all.  No cramps, nothing.

Another vote for Loestrin; I’m on the Fe24 version and I love it.  3 years and counting, no periods, no mood swings, and while my skin isn’t crystal clear, it’s not bad.  Two thumbs up!

I’ve been on birth control for almost 15 years. First couple of years, monophasic, no problems except forgetting a pill here or there. Then came the popularity af orthotricyclen- turned me into the nuttiest psycho. I think it was all in my head, no one made comments, lol. So then I ditched pills altogether and switched to the nuvaring. It was amazing! A little pricey, but I used it for like 7 years. I only stopped last year because I startes getting leg cramps, although I cant guarantee that’s what it was from, there were other factors at the time that could have caused the cramps, but I was terrified it could be blood clots, so my cousin gave me 3 months of reclipsen pills when she was ttc. So I got my dr to continue a rx of reclipsen for me. I’m pretty happy with it and my dr has me skipping the placebo pill week indefinitely and just use active pills every pack, like never have a period.

Ugh, sorry about the typos.I’m on the phone.I

I take Loryna, a generic Yaz. I love it! I’ve been taking it for almost 2 years now. My periods usually are very scant, just spotting and not too bad of cramps. Before bc I had horrible cramps- I actually passed out from the pain. Sometimes my period is heavier and I do get cramps but no where near what they used to be. I don’t break out ever, but I never really had an acne problem before, no mood swings, and I haven’t gained any weight. And it works great at a birth control haha

@LilliePad:  glad to hear this, since switching to my new job and thus new insurance I have to go to generic and this is one of my options. Thanks for sharing!
