I am pregnant, but I have heard that when breastfeeding you get super funky sweats…

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve never been around a new mom and thought, “Man, she stinks.”

My sister in law complained that she smelled like spoiled milk all the time. She said it was the worst part about having an infant.  Worse than the lack of sleep to her.

Oh the joys of being a mom! I’m still a few weeks away from delivery but I keep hearing of all the things that happen after delivery…the craziness of pregnancy wasn’t enough?! it has to continue after birth too?! lol

I know my sense of smell was hyper crazy, but I don’t remember extra sweat/ funk… I took an herbal supplement to help with milk supply and it made me smell like maple syrup!  Maybe that would help?  ๐Ÿ™‚  I think it was fenugreek.

I deffinatly had it… with both of my kids i had it, it did take a few months to go away but my Fiance never said anything about me smelling bad so it could have just been my nose tricken out on me.

I bet it’s just the super-sensitive schnoz, but it would drive me crazy.

I had heard that your hair fell out.  I had accepted that.

But, I thought that it was extra hair that fell out, and I guess i’m an idiot, because it’s not.

And once it falls out, and you find it all over the house, (like in the baby’s diaper) it grows back.

In huge chunks, resulting in me having hair of different lengths all over my head.  These are worse than flyaways.  It’s atrocious.  I don’t know when it will be normal again!

OMG, I thought it was just me!!  I definitely know what you’re talking about!  And the sweats too ๐Ÿ™  It gets really bad at night, and I swear I’m soaking the bed in sweat when I’m sleeping.  My mom made me do some little “sauna” treatment (Asian thing) and told me I had to sweat it out so that later in life I wouldn’t smell, but I don’t think it’s working, LOL.

@MARIE901:  Nope, I think it was about 3 months post partum.  First I started finding it in the shower drain, and that was okay.  Then it was in the cat’s mouth.  DDs diaper. All over the bed.  THE REFRIGERATOR.

I wish I could tell you how long it lasted, but that was about when I found out I was pregnant again, so I don’t know if it just resolved itself, or if being pregnant made it stop.  But now, my hair is 100% a hot mess.

Not sure about the armpit smell.  I just noticed the smell down south from all the fluids you lose.  Gross!  And I had really bad night sweats for 2 weeks.  But the good part about that is I’d wake up and look in the mirror and my tummy went down more!
