Okay, so I posted a couple of days ago about some bridesmaid dresses I was interested in. But now I’m thinking I want to go in a different direction. I’m meeting with two potential planners tomorrow, then looking into venues, so hopefully I’ll get a better idea of exactly what kind of look I want to go for with them once I have a better idea with everything else. I’m thinking the long ones for the ceremony, then possible change into the shorter dresses for the reception? I loooove them! What do you think?

They’re both very pretty! I tend to prefer short dresses (they’re more versatile, comfortable, and usually less expensive), but this one may be a tad short for my taste. I’d run it by your girls and see how they feel about these options! Love the mixed fabrics!

They look very nice! But depending on the budget of your BMs, it may be a little much to buy two dresses.

@Almost Mrs.P: I was just going to write this. I like the long one the best!

Both of those are so pretty! I slightly prefer the long one only because the short one looks fairly short and I tend to feel uncomfortable in dresses that are super short.

My previous post was a huge debate regarding the prices of the original Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses I was interested in. They were very expensive and I agree that the right thing to do is to pay for all my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, which I am happy in doing. So, considering these are a little less expensive, I could get both the long and short for about what I would be paying for my first choice of dresses. Win/Win, right? I could seriously dress shop all day long. I love so many!

I love the first one…ALOT. The second one looks hoochy!

@Mrs McCain 2012:
The long ones are definitely beautiful and perfect for the ceremony. I would never even consider the short ones for anything other than the reception. I don’t think they would look hoochie/as short on my bridesmaids because the model in the picture is most likely 5’10 or taller. My tallest Bridesmaid or Best Man is 5’7.
What about this for reception Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses? I think these are lovely as well!

@Almost Mrs.P: I was going to say the same thing!
Both dresses are very pretty, I prefer the longer one b/c the shorter one is just a little too short for my taste, but the cost of 2 dresses, plus hair and makeup, accessories, and shoes. Not to mention the costs that are involved in bridal showers and bachelorette parties…I would probably have a talk with my BM’s before asking them to buy 2 dresses.
ETA: I didn’t see your above statement that you were very generously paying for your Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses! Since that’s the case, I like the second short dress that you posted better 🙂

I am footing the cost for Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, hair, and makeup! With that being said, do you guys think two dresses is still unnecessary? Should I have them wear the same dress throughout the entire wedding? I guess I just like the idea of them wearing something a little more fun for the reception?

@KelsieLea7: I wasn’t trying to be rude with my above statement and edited it afterwards once I read all of the comments. With that being said, if you do choose to go with 2 seperate dresses, I did like the second short one better. I personally think it may be a little over the top with 2 Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, but I’m also the type of bride that wants to wear my wedding dress the entire night to get as much use out of it as possible lol If having 2 seperate dresses for your BM’s is something that you want to do and is in the budget for you, then go for it.

The long one is beautiful but I also think short dresses are more versatile. Could you have your Maid/Matron of Honor in the long one and the BM’s in the short one, maybe in the same or a similar colour?

I knew you weren’t trying to be rude. I totally appreciate everyone’s comments and hope for honest feedback! 🙂 I am definitely the type who wants to wear/be photographed in my same wedding dress all night. I’ve never given it a second thought or considered a wardrobe change for myself.
