I was first told my dress would be here in October. At the end of that month, I called, and was told December. Okay.
I got a phone call from the dress shop today…they left a message informing me that the dress had arrived, but due to an “imperfection” they had to send it back for another one.
Um…what?? Should I be worried? How long is it going to take for that dress to come back in? I will call them to ask, but I feel like they keep pushing back the date. How long do alterations generally take?
It makes me want to go to this local bridal salon that has sample dresses. You buy whatever they have in the store. I was there before and while I didn’t find anything I loved, maybe it’s worth another shot?

My alterations took about two months but that was my fault, I kept having to reschedule the appointments. You should be fine, i’m sure they will make it a rush order.

My friends dress came in COMPLETELY wrong. The hollow to hem length was so horrible it hit at her ankles! Needless to say that dress was scrapped and another dress in the correct measurements was ordered and rushed from Europe. Took about 5 days for her to get her new one. Still completely nerve racking at the time! Just make sure that they rush deliver it and you should be fine 🙂

@peachacid: I think you will be OK – I bet they will rush it. They will move you to the front of the “queue,” so to speak. I started my alterations 2 months before the wedding, but they can be done faster than that, too.
