With my stepson, we did pull ups for overnight, although he was always really good at holding it/not peeing at night. My biggest piece of advice is don’t give her a glass of water before bed. LOL! We made sure my stepson went pee right before bed, and when we were going to bed, Darling Husband would go take him to the bathroom again (he would basically still be asleep or really really groggy, but he still did the routine, LOL!) and then he’d go as soon as he woke up in the morning. Nights were the easiest part of it for us, the rest was a battle.

@bakerella:  Us too! We have to stop liquids at LEAST an hour before bed. It is a struggle and sucks when they are like begging for a drink. They are not dehydrating, just tired and putting up a fight lol! My daugther will be 3 July 25 and still has accidents 4-5 nights a week. I hear it is extremely common up until like age 5.

I’m not a parent yet, but one of my psychology professors would not stop raving about a singing toilet she bought her son. Apparently that was the best invention ever when it came to toilet training him. I think she bought the Fisher Price one. I linked the item to a friend on facebook who is going to be potty training her daughter. A bunch of her friends commented on how much they loved the same toilet and what a difference it made.

ETA:

The one I know of is called the Fisher Price Cheer For Me Potty. I know the site has some great and some negative reviews. Everybody I know that’s had one loved it though.

@FloretteLiz:  Yea that looks awesome too!!

Another popular tip that some people gave me was putting them in their favorite character underwear (Dora, Spongebob, Yo Gabba Gabba) and then if they have an accident , be dramatic about it. “Oh no!! You peed on Dora! Now we gotta throw these away! This is what we have to do when you have an accident.” Obviously don’t throw them away, just in the wash. But don’t let her know that lol!
