OK, so after seeing what a beautiful job the ebay seller Enjoy-Dress Store did on BostonBlingBride2011’s dress I went ahead and ordered with them.
Here is my inspiration dress:
I send an email last Tuesday and received a prompt reponse with a quote. On Thursday I sent payment through paypal and sent another email confirming the order. The seller quickly confirmed my order and asked for measurements, I replied with the measurements and have heard nothing since. Now I am second guessing my decision. I have emailed the seller asking if the measurements were received and if everything was in order to start the dress making process…and I haven’t heard back.
Just pray for me, please. I will be on pins and needles until I hear something…well actually until I get my dress. I know going this route was not as expensive as getting the dress through the bridal salon…but it is still money I would not like to lose.
I will keep everyone updated as to the process and finished result. I am hoping everything will turn out OK…

just try to relax… was the dress you ordered expensive? I have seen some of these websites before selling cheaper versions of the real designs… if it is cheap and it doesn’t come out the way that you expected, I would say forget it and just move on and try to buy something at a proper store. if the money is an issue and you paid quite a lot then I would bombard them non stop with emails and phone calls until you get an answer. that’s what I had to do with my bridesmaids dresses…. eventually they had enough of me and gave me my money back 🙂
don’t worry!! hopefully it will all be fine, just try to calm down and think about your other options.

Hi, as much as I’m going to tell you relax I know I would be freaking out like you are probably doing right now. I just remember all the stories I have read about girls in your situation who didn’t hear back right away and may of had some email ‘struggle’ throughout the whole process but in the end got a beautiful dress. I agree with the other posters to relax. Also, my suggestion is to be suuuuper sweet. When I was emailing Jeff Liu, most of my emails included things like, ‘I look forward to seeing your work!’ and ‘Thank you so much for doing this for me, I’m sure you will be doing a great job!’ In the end, despite having several things changed about the original dress and sending obscure ‘idea’ pics to him, the dress turned out perfect. So, let them do their work and try to concentrate on other things for now. 🙂

First off, did they give a time limit?
Second: remember you have ONLY 45 days to file a claim.
That said, we (as in my Fiance and I) ordered a gown from Liyi-(bunch of numbers) and the listing said 21-30 days. Plus up to five for shipping.
We waited until it was almost 45 days before filing an ebay complaint after numerous go-arounds through email. After we filed the complaint, we were given a tracking number. Friday, it showed up on the UPS site as being picked up. It was in my hands that Monday and was GORGEOUS!!! (with a few loose beads/sequins).
Here’s my suggestions:
1) be patient (I’m not, my Fiance is, thankfully).
2) ask for status updates at the half-way mark.
3) be nice
4) wait until the LAST MINUTE to file a complaint with PayPal.
Others haven’t had any problems and I’d certainly order from dressilyme, Coral’s Bridal or a couple others that have had AMAZING reviews.

Yes, they told me 20-25 days. So I have marked the 30 day point on my calendar and if I don’t hear anything by then I will look into filing a paypal claim. I am hoping it will not come to that.
I actually contact dressilyme and they provided a quote, but when I replied saying that I wanted to go ahead with the purchase and how did they want me to pay, etc. I never heard anything back.
I will try to be patient…

hehehe, SNAP! when i was getting irate and impatient i said things like
”i know these things cant be rushed, and i trust you and i know you are working hard to make my dress beautiful, and thank you so much for taking the extra time to make sure its perfect for me, i am just so excited i cant wait to see it’ yadda yadda yadda…
but in reality all i really wanted to do was smash his face in! LOL
i second what Ryna is telling you, patience is not my strongest point, but these things take time and they dont rush i’m afraid.
Ryna and i have been on a rollercoaster ride, along with adw2c and rachgirl82…….but now, my dress is on its way, Ryna has hers, Rachgirl got her refund and i believe adw2c recieved her dress too …..so it WILL be ok, you just got to have faith. but keep in mind that 45 day PAYPAL claim timeframe. and if you get worried and its getting close to the 45 days……tell them you are claiming, and watch that tracking number come through in double quick time!

Good luck!!! I hope to see a success story here for you. I love your inspiratoin gown. I would say to make sure you have effectively communicated about beading and materials.
I would also make sure that they will provide a confirmation picture in case you need to request small changes. Sending the dress back can be difficult so keep that in mind.

I feel a little more relieved, I received an email from the China seller this morning saying sorry for the delay in reponse and that everything was OK and they would begin work on my dress ASAP.
I surely hope it all turns out well.
