Hi there
As you may have seen from my username and other posts, I am hoping to become a consecrated virgin of the catholic church. I very greatly love the Lord indeed and am deeply joyful that one day I can be espoused to the eternal King that is Jesus!
I thought it might be nice to have a thread on here where we can pray for people.
Marriage is about you, your spouse, and God making a threeway commitment, as a witness to our community which mirrors the heavenly marriage between Christ and His Body theChurch. Our society is in need of the witness of Christian marriages!
If anyone would like me to pray for them, their spouse, their marriage or anything else please feel free to add this thread. Of you can just write ‘private intention’.
If anyone else wants to join me in praying for our brothers and sisters on this thread, please feel free. If you would like say you are praying for the others, it might be nice so people can know just how many random people out there are praying for all of them
God bless you all!

@alishaloo: yes indeed one can marry Jesus! In the Catholic church we have the Catechism which details this calling as follows: http://www.solemncharge.com/post/2013/01/28/Year-of-Faith-Catechism-Study-CCC-920-927-The-Eremitic-Life-Consecrated-Virgins-and-Religious-Life.aspx
and yes I could have put more options but i thought it will be a fast way for everyone to see how many people are praying for them, and also the rather comical position of atheists desiring prayers.
people who had specific requests might post them as posts. but i am open to ideas of changing it!

Hello, I was wondering if you could please pray for my fiancé, who is going to a protest on the 24th. It will most likely be very dangerous. Please pray that he will return safe and uninjured, and that soon the issues in Brazil will be resolved so that he may stop fighting. Thank you so much for your prayers, if anyone else needs a prayer I will pray with you

@BrideofChrist: not sure what you mean by “the rather comical position of atheists desiring prayers,” but you don’t really give anyone the option to say “no” which will make your poll rather skewed. It is strange to have a “yes/no” question without the option to vote “no.” It’s as if you are forcing the direction of your results. You’ll get more votes if you allow for more opinions and get a more accurate representation of the community.

@BrideofChrist: Please pray for my Future Mother-In-Law – she is struggling with mental health issues and tried to commit suicide on Friday, followed by similar comments on Saturday that led to a lot of heartache. Luckily she is ok, but any prayers for her to recover would be most appreciated. And also for my Fiance for strength during this time.

Please pray that Jesus will bless me and my fiance with the funds needed in any way he chooses to help us with our wedding funds and that Jesus will bring us close to him and he brings me and my fiance one step closer as man and wife.

I’m not Christian but I believe in God and would love to pray for others and have others pray for me. Your thread title brought tears to my eyes… ๐
Here are mine:
– Please pray for my DH’s mother and family. They are giving us and him a very rough time because we didn’t marry how they thought we should. Please pray that they learn to respect our choices. Please also pray for us to have an increase in tolerance and compassion toward them, even if we don’t understand why they do what they do.
– Please pray for my husband’s ex wife. We both feel she is mentally ill or very emotionally injured. She is extremely hard to deal with and constantly tries to make my husband’s life really difficult, no matter how often she is asked to stop. He has tried to keep distance but she continually finds ways to insert herself right in the middle of our private lives. Please pray that she gets the comfort, love and attention in other ways than him.
– Please pray for us…that we develop an even stronger bond so we can face all of this together.
Thanks so much. xo

@BrideofChrist: If God/Christ can marry multiple consecrated virgins, isn’t that considered polygamy?

@BrideofChrist: Just wanted to chime in, that though I don’t believe in God (actually I am agnostic), I think it’s very thoughtful what you are doing. Hopefully nobody takes the “offended” standpoint because I don’t think that is necessary. Keep at it!

@Kellym84: Oh my gosh — prayers definitely coming your/her way.
@BrideofChrist: Thanks for the sweet offer ๐ Please pray for me and my FH to have a holy and Christ-centered marriage, for my family to come around to the idea of us being married, for a good job to come through for him, and for his healing from anxiety problems. Pray for us during our time of preparation, that we can be the best spouse we can be for each other ๐

@Taimane: Perhaps this will help explain her thought process. Those who believe in Christ and confess him as their lord and savior have the gift of salvation and are considered ” saved”. Meaning we have been sanctified and set apart for Christ. God uses the analogy of marriage between husband and wife to represent the relationship between Christ and the Church. The church represents the bride and the groom is Christ. So just as a groom comes for his bride and places a ring on her finger to set her apart as taken for him, Christ does the same thing for believers. The engagement ring of a beliver is salvation and when he returns the celebration will occur which is considered the marriage supper of the lamb.
Below are a few biblical scriptures to support her thought process. Hopefully this helps.
Revelation 19:7-9
Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
Ephesians 5:25-27
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
Isaiah 54:5
For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.

Hi, thank you so much for your heart. Please pray for me to find gainful employment. Is there anything I can keep you in my prayers for?
