Ok for all of you bees who have already celebrated your wedding can I get some advice?
I’m thinking of having some pre-ceremony pics taken of me and Mr. Z and also our attendants. I’d like to still have that “first-look” moment captured and as long as it’s done does it matter if it happens before the actual ceremony? Part of me feels that I’m breaking tradition and we should just do what everyone else I know has and get the pictures done after we’re officially married. But the other part of me feels like we’re spending a lot of money on our reception and I’d like to enjoy as much of it as I can including some of cocktail hour with our bridal party. My photographer has already let me know that he planned on using that hour for pictures because “that’s what cocktail hour is for”, so the bride and groom can get the posed pictures taken. I feel like cocktail hour is a small intermission and a chance to freshen up makeup, have a drink, a bite to eat, use the ladies room, etc. I’m not expecting to enjoy the full hour but I’d like at least 20 minutes to relax a bit before the reception REALLY starts. (My venue has a separate room away from the other guests for the bridal party’s own private cocktail hour. I’m not trying to mingle with the guests and socialize with everyone.)
Soooo, for those of you who did and didn’t get pre-ceremony pics taken can you please share your thoughts? Much appreciated, thanks!
