@MissBennet: I think the biggest thing for us is when we will know for sure that I can move to where he is.  With my career path, I don’t know where I may end up for the next few years.  🙁  It really stinks because he owns a home and has a great career.  Luckily, he doesn’t complain and sees this as an opportunity to pursue other ventures before getting married and starting a family.

As for you, I can only imagine how wonderful it feels to have completed your checklist!  It sounds like things are really coming together for you two!  Congrats on finding a job in your field of study, and a special congrats on finishing your premarital counseling!  Keeping my fingers crossed that he proposes soon!!!

@MissBennet:  Oh man!  I’d be a total wreck if SO tried to confuse me like that.  I think he knows better than to do that, for his own sake.  Lol.

Having the date, doing the premarital counseling, and having a deadline is wonderful!!!  I don’t know how I could stay quiet until he finally makes it ring-official, if I were you!

My SO definitely wants to do pre-marital counseling first. Mostly because it’s required by his church if you want the pastor to officiate at the ceremony, and he does. Our worry is that pastor won’t agree to counsel us, since I am an atheist. I do go to church with him and I have great respect for his faith, but I don’t share his beliefs and pastor has been known to refuse to marry couples with differences of faith. I suppose we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.
