merrymargaret :  nope. We know nothing. Two antique diamond dealers have guess-timated the diamond was hand cut around 1890/1900 and the setting seems to be 1910-20 but we don’t really know.

I often wonder where it’s been and what it’s seen and about the ladies who owned/wore it before me. I hope they’ll be pleased I have it and love it so much.

My pre- owned/pre made e-ring set came from a pawn shop. It was our second layaway and we both really liked it, but was hesitant b/c I wanted a solitare. We made a stop at this store in route to another store. My deceased Dad is the only person that knew heart was my fave shaped stone since he sold one wholesale (side biz) in the 1980’s and when he bought it home before selling it to the client I went bonkers as we didn’t even know they existed. Fast forward to a failed relationship, I wanted an emerald cut diamond back then and  didn’t want to bring that kinda energy to my engagement/marriage so uh no emerald lol. Fiance asked what shaped diamond and before I could give a few examples I kid you not-he texted me a pic of a heart diamond ring 🤤😲😢 I was so shocked and emotional! Trippy! So we’re at the store I asked do you have any blah blah blah she showeed one like the first lawaway  so uh no thank you. I clearly heard the Holy Spirit say “look” I felt stupid as salesperson had stated it was the only one they had yet I obediently looked and yup there they were in a corner of the jewelry case, in an open ring box turned backwards! I asked if the v shaped tip was a heart(I’m not that tall) and she couldn’t hide her surprise as she slowly handed it to me whispering “oh, I didn’t even realize that was there” Fiance put paid down payment. Every time we went to the store to make a payment she would go hide in the back of the store tee heehee I was going to use this set as a place holder then we fell in love w/em and how sparkly, unique, and slightly imperfect they are. His words “these rings are so you” Yeah, we’ll upgrade or whatevs later on. Focused on finding my w-band. I am pleased.

***if anyone has some history on this ring(s)I would like to hear it. I haven’t had an actual jeweler look at it yet. I think a Bee once told me the band reminded her of her Mom’s circa 1950’s. It looks like a custom job that’s has some minor craftsmanship issues***

UK-bee :  Thanks!  It was my FIs Grandma’s engagement ring so we got it from the safety deposit box 😉.

DH lucked out!  He had no real concept of ring shopping other than looking at them in shops, and never actually asked for any input from me on what I wanted (to be fair, I’d’ve had no idea myself).  He came across this one, started to leave to mull it over, and then ended up turning around and going straight back to buy it.  No idea of the stone specs, but I love how dainty and unassuming it is 🙂

My ring is from Jhollywooddesigns on Etsy in her “raven” setting. I didn’t trust Fiance enough to pick out a ring himself because he has never bought any kind of jewelry before. I saw it on her shop and fell in love with it immediately! It had everything i wanted – a unique band with a 2ct cushion cut neo moissanite (: Never felt like i had to change anything.
