Anyone planning on doing it? Have you already? What’s it like? Just curious because we’ve considered it. But we’re not sure if the money will be well spent, we’re on pretty solid ground right now but communication could always been better… I think :o/

My fiance and I started our premartial counseling last night. At our church, the sessions are separated by subject matter (ie: sex, finances, communication), and there will also be a session where we have “real talk” with couples that have been married for a little while, and we can discuss the realities of marriage.
Our first session was fun. We spent time getting to know the other couples’ history and watched a REALLY funny video from our Pastor about things to get in order before you fall in love. We are pretty excited to continue.
But given that ours is through our church, we also refer to scriptures in the Bible regarding what is expected of a husband and wife team under God’s word — so we’ll have the opportunity to determine how much we need to work on to have the union that God wants us to have.
I’m inclined to say it can’t hurt…but it’s entirely up to the two of you. Good luck! 🙂

It’s required by our Pastor before she will marry us. Our first session was about a month ago and it was interesting and informative. I really enjoyed it. Our next session will be next week. We have to do a survey type thing that we paid for but i haven’t done it yet and neither has Fiance, hmmm, that needs to get taken care of.
I agree with MochaRose, it can’t hurt, in fact I’m sure all it can do is help!

I’m planning on doing it. It’s included in our all-inclusive package at our venue and if we do it, we get our marriage license for free. If nothing else, it’ll be some quality bonding time with my man.
