For bees, who did not live together before marriage and plan not to until after the wedding… did you take pre-martial counseling classes? Fi and I do not live together and plan not to until after the wedding but both of us want to take pre-marital counseling classes. Are the classes useful? Did it help strengthen the relationship? I’m not sure how to find more information about it since we’re not getting married in a church. Please share. Thanks.

We didn’t live together till we got married, and we really appreciated our pre-marital counseling classes. It’s not that we didn’t know each other well enough and needed the classes, but the class did make sure that we’d talked about the things we needed to talk about prior to getting married. I would have wanted to do them even if we had lived together.
The time leading up the wedding is so busy — it was really special for us to be able to spend the time we were with our pastor focusing on ourselves and our relationship and really remembering why we were getting married.
You can definitely take a class even if you aren’t getting married in a church. I’d just Google to see what’s around you, or maybe see if your friends have any advice?
