I say make an appointment to try it on and if you love it go pre-owned route. I sold a dress on pre-owned wedding dresses before and I negotiated with the bride so yeah there is usually wiggle room with most of the sellers. Hope that helps

Definitely try it on to get a sense of styles. You can always go the custom route as well. My bff is also in love with an Inbal and we’re going to a trunk show in a couple months. She’s already accepted that it will cost a lot, but she’s looking into getting one custom made if it’s just way too ridiculous.

Bg1309:  Well it all depends if it was worn or not. If it’s a new with tags you can expect 5-20% off maybe more (mine was priced at 40% off new with tags cause i just wanted to sell it) if it’s used meaning they wore it you can expect more % off some times 50% even. It all depends on the seller and their willingness to negotiate.

You must be my twin! I was deciding between Katie may and pre owned Inbal dror. Eventually I decided to bite the bullet and buy a pre owned 13-23. I negotiated the price with a very kind bride.

Bg1309:  also I didn’t try any of the Katie May dresses on. They look really beautiful but I wanted something extra gorgeous. I plan to sell my 13-23 after at a really good price to make it attainable for another bride to own.

I’d probably offer 4000 to start.

I bought a preowned Pnina Tornai satin ball gown online back in March for $4800. Brand new it’s worth $9000 so I got an amazing deal!

I was in the same boat as you and fell in love with a dress that I knew it was WAAYYY out of my price range! But I had to have it! So I knew the only way I would be able to afford it was to go the preowned route. It’s not a common dress of hers either so I didn’t think I was ever going to find one, but then I found a listing for that dress on preownedweddingdresses.com… And luckily it was around my size!

The bride selling it had it listed for $3500 USD. I messaged her and asked her if she would be willing to take $2500 for it, but she said no. Which is understandable as $3500 is already a lot of money taken off the original price tag. So I countered at $3000 and she accepted. I live in Canada and our dollar value right now is really shitty. So between the currency exchange, duty fees and shipping costs, I paid a total of $4800 for the dress. I didn’t expect to it be that big of a jump, but oh well. It was worth every penny because now I get to wear my dream dress on my wedding day! 🙂

In terms of negotiation, I agree with NBee and start at $4000. I think a thousand less than their listing price is low enough where your not completely low balling them and you can still try and save a bit more. If they don’t accept it than come up by a few hundred dollars and see what happens. Good luck and I hope you can get the dress of your dreams too! 🙂

Bg1309:  Inbal dror are made custom to about 22-30 measurements and are difficult to alter because of the couture nature and the delicate fabric. SO if you go that route, make sure you can try it on or have a return policy, because one inch difference in the length of your torso can make the entire back look funny. They don’t come in sizes like other designers. I love them so much, but also can’t bank on the lottery. So be careful bee, I don’t want you to order one and realize that the sizing is off. If one inch is off in one place, it makes it look terrible. Coming from a fellow Inbal lover, I hope you find the perfect dress for you!
