I bought a pre-owned dress on Craiglist. The woman told me that she had it cleaned before she sold it to me (I went to her house and saw the receipt that she did have it done).
So, I was wondering, would I need to get it cleaned again for my wedding? It seems silly to me to get it done again. It’s been in a box for a while, and all that’s wrong with it is that it’s a little long and wrinkly.

If she had it done, I wouldn’t bother. Just see about getting it steamed/pressed.

I think if it were me…I would have it cleaned just to be safe. Do you know how long ago it was cleaned?
I’m weird about that stuff though, I always wash everything I buy used…I have this amazing phobia of bed bugs and always worry about eggs. I don’t want to worry you, but that’s my opinion. If it’s not going to break your bank…it’d be worth doing just for peace of mind I think, the cleaners can also steam it and get rid of those wrinkles for ya! ; )

It most likely just need to be steamed and pressed. Look @ it in the light and go over it w/ a fine tooth comb. If it looks, presentable, you’ll just have to have it steamed and pressed.

@missmuggins:It’s silk, and I’m afraid of washing it too many times, or having someone completely ruin my dress beforehand. Haha. But the cleaning was done recently, right before she let me purchase it. She was a wonderful seller who wanted to have it cleaned before giving it to me. =]
