(Closed) Pre-planning… how long for wedding dress?

You know, I think it really depends on the designer, the boutique, and the type of dress you get. (I’m so helpful, I know.)

If you’re having a dress custom-made, or if your chosen dress/designer is somewhat rare, it could take longer than 6-7 months to get your dress and any needed alterations.

However, if you’re able to buy a sample or something off the rack (i.e. David’s Bridal), the alterations and such should not take so long as to keep your dress from being ready on time. (Just make sure you ask the alterations person how long before you commit, and don’t cut it to close timewise.)

Or if you’re a more standard size, you can wear something without alterations and that would cut down the time a lot.
