Bees! I’m a little stuck on the “seating of the mothers” or the pre-processional.
How are you all doing it?
People I need to seat: my sister, grandmas, grandpas, father of groom, mothers.
Do the grandpas escort the grandmas (their wives) or should both be escorted by ushers?
Who escorts the mothers? (We don’t have any brothers).
Should the groom escort anyone?

Can men (like grandpas) be escorted by other men?

@PinkMagnolia: Hm… I’m not sure. I’ve seen weddings where Ushers “escorted” grandfathers, but they just walked side by side.

Thanks! Yeah a friend mentioned to me that grandpas walk behind their wives (grandmas) and the wives are escorted by ushers. That seems a little weird?

Our Grandfathers are escorting their wives. FH’s brother is escorting their mom and I guess my dads are escorting my moms then coming back for me.

The ushers are escorting the women and the men are going to follow behind…

I think it is traditional for the ushers to escort the women and for the men to follow behind. However, I’ve seen it done both ways. Personally, I think it is silly to have someone else escort them when they already have an escort. My grandparents wil be seated by an usher before the ceremony starts (I didn’t want them standing around waiting for us) and then my fiance’s stepmom and his dad will walk down the aisle, followed by his mother and stepdad, and then my mom and her dad (or an usher.)
