My water broke at 33 weeks with my first.  I had him vaginally 4 hours after my water broke.  They were going to try and stop my labor, but that was not sucessful.  I was sent home the next day, but he had to stay in the hospital for 19 days.

I went to the hospital with contractions at 29 weeks with my twins, was diagnosed with pre-term labor and put on modified bed rest with meds to stop the contractions.  They stayed put until I was just shy of 34 weeks and my water broke.  They used meds to try to prevent labor and keep them put so I could get 48 hours of steroids to help lung development but they were born 33 hours later, both vaginally – almost wound up with the double-whammy vaginal/c-section birth but the doctor was a champ and safely delivered our second baby breech.  Baby A was in the NICU for two weeks but mostly because she had a tongue tie and had some trouble feeding, Baby B was only in the NICU one week.  Apart from some very mild jaundice they were just there to grow.  I was only in the hospital two days after giving birth, that’s all my hospital gives you for a vaginal birth.  Good luck hon!

mrsfrendo11 :  I know it’s not the same but my mom had me at 32 weeks.  She got to go home 2 days later.  Well “home” as she could be, she and my dad were on vacation in Florida when I came.  I stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks and stayed on in Florida for another 10 days or so before coming to our true home in Michigan.  My poor dad had to find the one and only snow suit in Florida and it wasn’t meant for a preemie so he and my mom tied the legs together to keep me from falling down in it 🙂

I had preterm labor scares at week 31 and 33. Week 31 I was 1.5cm dilated and given procardia to control my contractions. Week 33 contractions came back and I needed terbutaline to stop the contractions, and I stopped dilating at a 3. I got the steroid injections for baby’s lungs and went on modified bedrest until week 35. I ended up getting a membrane sweep at my 38w appt as I was 4cm with bulging bag of water, my water broke the next day and I had my son vaginally the day after that at 38+2.

My water broke at 33w6d. They tried to stop labor for 24 hours to give his lungs a chance to develop, but it didn’t work. He was born 4 hours later via a vaginal delivery. I was in the hospital the normal 2 days and he was there for 13 days to learn how to feed. He’s perfectly healthy though. Prior to going into labor I had no complications during pregnancy.

mrsfrendo11 :  how far along are you? I had a positive FFN at my 33w scare but baby stayed put until 38w but I did go on modified bedrest and had to take meds as stated before.

mrsfrendo11 : December 2015 I went into labour with my daughter at 29 weeks. I went into hospital with a suspected UTI (results later came back clear) and when I was checked by the consultant I was already 5cm dilated. From arriving at the hospital to giving birth was only around 2.5 hours, active labour was 11mins. She was born weighing 2.2lbs/1035g and she spent 56 days in NICU. I was able to leave the hospital a couple of hours after giving a few hours after giving birth or stay 48 hours if I wanted  (I’m in the UK). I left as soon as I could because the ward wasn’t the most comfortable and sharing a room with mothers and their babies upset me. I’m lucky enough to live a 10 minute walk from hospital.

I hope everything goes well for you and your little one.
