I received my first gift in the mail about a week ago (wedding is 9/26) but don’t have my thank you notes. My Dad’s cousins jumped the gun for sure! They found out where we were registered before I had put it on anything including our website, talk about research!
But, back to the point, I don’t have thank you’s so do I send them a note to thank them now even though I plan on sending all our gift thank you’s after the wedding? I really wanted to wait for our fun thank you notes with our pictures on them. I could write two I suppose?
What to do? What is the proper etiquette?

If you want to wait to use your fun thank you cards…then I would say wait until after the wedding. My plan is to start sending thank yous as soon as we start getting gifts only because I don’t want to be swimming in a sea of thank you cards once the wedding is over…but if you have your heart set on using particuluar thank you cards then that’s fine too 🙂

Proper etiquette is to send a thank you as soon as you receive the gift. If you’d like your cousin to receive your picture thank you’s as well you can certainly send them one after the wedding. Just thank them for attending in that one.

if you don’t have thank you notes, i would suggest going to a stationary store and just buying some plain flat cards & envelopes and then you can print you & your fiances names on them and a return address in a fun font & color… that way they are cute, simple & you’ll just have enough to do all the early thank yous!

I think a small note to them to let them know I got it will be nice. I think I will send them another later because I know they aren’t coming.
Thanks for solving my delima.
