- Wedding: February 2012
We have a lot of folks coming in from out of town so we decided to have our rehearsal dinner 2 nights before the wedding to avoid having to invite an extra 40 people. Unfortunately, at least 20-30 will still be in town. My folks are insisting that we invite everyone! My Fiance and I do not want a big rehearsal dinner and we can’t ask his mother to foot the bill for all the extra guests.
Also, we plan on letting all our guests staying in the host hotel know that we will be hanging at the hotel bar the night before the wedding as sort of a meet and greet so we have time to spend with our guests that we don’t get to see very often. There will not be an official invite as this is not a formal event. We do not plan on footing the bill for this night either. Now my parents plan to pay for certain select guests. This is really awkward for us. How can you pay for some but not all? And why should we pay for anyone for this type of unofficial event.
Has anyone else run into this situation? Anyone have a solution?
