What are your opinions on pre worn/used shoes? I was browsing through ebay and decided to try and look for higher end shoes. I came across some Manolo Blahnik, Valentino, & Louboutin, Prada, & Yves Saint Laurent for less then $50. I was thinking of buying a cheap pair of shoes and blinging them out but I need a good, comfy pair but can’t see myself spending that much money on shoes.
The thought of wearing used shoes grosses me out and I am trying to get over it to bid on these shoes lol.

I will buy used clothes, but I draw the line at underwear and shoes (and probably hair accessories if I wore them). Undies because, well even though they’re washable it just grosses me out; however, I don’t buy used shoes because I can’t really clean them. I’m sure there are people that have purcahsed used shoes without issue, but I like Cole Haans which aren’t that pricey anyways.

It kind of grosses me out. You never know what kind of viruses and stuff people have on their feet.
Also, if those shoes are only $50 I can guarantee they are knock offs

I had a pair of snake skin pumps I wore until the heels literally came off. Not the little pad, but the stick. Imagine my excitement wen I found the exact same pair in my size (11!) at Goodwill for $2. I snapped them right up not caring what they came with. Turns out, the previous owner had some sort of crazy gait because they were worn in such a fashion that I could barely stand up in them, let alone walk in any fashion that was suitable for public. I was so bummed but it has kept me from your exact problem. I say no because you don’t know how they are worn.

Usually I would say no to used shoes…buuuut how many times could a pair of shoes like that actually been used ? I have heels in my closet I have worn maybe 2 times. Maybe the women selling these shoes have that same problem, and decided to let some go.

whoa_its_ash: I was thinking I could bleach/clean the inside before I put my foot in it. Too bad they are located in Chicago – any Chicago ladies want to take a look before I buy – just kidding!

Nope no way no how, only time I have bought used shoes is for my son who is 2.5 and that was when he was younger than 2. I have read time and time again you shouldn’t buy used shoes since shoes tend to mold itself to a person’s foot.

Depends on the types of shoes. Things like boots I will buy because you don’t usually find people wearing boots without socks. And even if they did, I only wear socks with boots. I won’t buy shoes that I have to wear barefoot! Skeeves me out.

ecrowe1218: Chances are any designer shoes selling for $50 are fakes. For just a little more you can buy new fakes.

The hard part is that people have different foot shapes so if you buy second hand shoes there’s a good chance they won’t mold to your feet and since they’ve already been broken in, thre’s no chance for them to at that point. And as Julies1949 said, there’s a good chance they are replicas.
Also just because they are designer doesn’t mean they are comfortable whatsoever.
