I would wait till the summer, but put in sizing beads for the time being. You can always take them out, but the more you mess with re-sizing the worse it is for your ring.

I have tapered fingers, and the first winter I had my ring it fit exactly like you described. I almost resized it, but the summer after it fit perfectly. Plus, when you add a wedding band to the mix it may feel tighter because more space on your finger is being taken up.

For me, the ring should not come off no matter how vigorously I shake my hand.  But my knucle is the largest part of my finger, so it’s naturally a little loose around my finger and has built in size for a little swelling.  I’ve gained a few pounds so my finger actually kind of grew around my rings and my finger is a little meatier now so its a little harder to get it to my knucle so it’s extra secure now with a wee muffin top!

Leave them in. That’s the great thing about them, they make the ring more secure but still leave room for fingers to swell a bit in the summer. If you ever gain weight and they become too tight on a more regular basis it’s easy to have them removed.

I’ve got really wide knuckes compared to my fingers, so I can’t really help there. I do live in CA, though, and I know that my rhr almost doesn’t fit at all on my finger in the summer (after sitting in my air conditioned office I can usually get it on). So there might be a bigger difference between summer and winter than you expect!

But, maybe you could try getting one of those ring snuggie things? It’s rubber and it fits on the ring to make it a little tighter. It could be a temporary fix until you get to summer or you try it on with your wedding ring.
