i know roller coasters are completely unsafe but water slides at water parks are too?? we’re going this saturday and i figured i’d ‘google‘ it, and everything i’ve read says to avoid them…booo… i mean, not the end of the world, i’d rather be safe than sorry, but what a bummer….
think i’ll call my dr. just get a final yay or nay….

I dream of going to a waterpark right now (15 weeks pregnant) and playing in the lazy river. Some parks have really tame slides you can go on too.

I would avoid the slides and jumping in off the side of a pool. Otherwise like PP said, take over the lazy river. I was really bummed too, we go to some big waterparks and stay in a resort with an indoor waterpark a couple of times in the summer and fall, and I will miss out on the slides:(

I think most of the slides at waterparks have the same signs as roller coasters and will not allow pregnant woman on the slides. Something like a lazy river might be your only option, not sure if you want to spend all that money just to sit in the lazy river.
Also with back pain that a lot of us experience during pregnancy, I can only imagine that the slides would make it worse.

I agree that slides are a bad idea. Also, I’m not sure how far along you are but just a warning that lying around at a water park/beach isn’t as comfortable as it used to be. I was so excited to go to the lake when I was 36 weeks pregnant, but then found out that there is no comfortable way to lie in the sand 🙁

I was 17-18 weeks when I went to Jamaica. (By my doctor) I was allowed to go on two (VERY) tame water slides. As long as they do not dump you harshly into the pool (hitting your bottom/back hard) it’s not such a big deal (depending how far you are). I also went river tubing which is similar to a lazy river. It really all depends what you can find. Avoid anything that goes fast or has a drop off. Though those are of course the most fun ones LOL.

yea figures ladies….i called my Dr to confirm and she said she would be afraid to go on them, especially the forceful ones, i.e. all the fun slides!! haha…i’m just complaining but i’m sure it will still be fun…for those who were wondering, i’m only 13.5 weeks along….i should be okay with just the lazy river and theres a wave pool there so maybe i’ll try that too…..though i read somewhere that some ppl are weary of the bateria in it?? idk. there’s also this 3 level water activity area that should be okay to ‘play’ around in…hehe, i’m such a kid 🙂
my lil 2 yr old nephew is coming too so if anything i’ll hang around with him since he most likely can’t go on the big slides too…

I went at 20 weeks and non of the signs said anything about being pregnant so I went on all of them! It felt good to have some fun and some deep belly laughs! Think LO enjoyed it too! Here I am at 25 weeks and he is moving more then ever and happy and healthy according to my doc.
