Starting within a week of finding out we were pregnant, I started getting bad acne. It’s not as bad as it could be, but I have a fair complexion and hate makeup (which usually makes it worse anyway) and so there’s really no hiding the bright red spots on my face! I hate it and it’s driving me nuts. It was mostly along my jawbone (from my ears to my chin) which I could kind of handle since I have a short bob haircut. But it’s now down my neck and it’s driving me crazy.
I wash my face twice a day with Aveeno Calming foam face wash. It’s not helping at all. I try not to pick and to keep my hands washed. Is there anything else that I can do for it? Harsh stuff tends to make it worse and dry out my skin. I know most acne medications and topical creams are not approved during pregnancy, but I haven’t done extensive research on it yet. Any suggestions?

Aveeno mmight have worked on your skin before you were pregnant but now that your hormones are changing and your body is going through makor changes your skin might not take to it anymore. When i was pregnant i had to change my shampoo and conditioner bc all the sudden it made my hair greesy! I suggest trying out diff face washes and see what works best for you. I broke out at the beginning of my pregnancy but it cleared up eventually. There IS hope!

i had that problem too. i just lived with it. i would ask your doctor if there’s anything ok to take.

ugh – this was one of my main symptoms too. nothing I found helped. what bothered me the most was the shoulder/back acne. drove me crazy because I really couldn’t do anything about it. if my hubby was close by when I was in the shower I’d make him scrub my back down with a sugar scrub!
2 weeks post partum and it hasn’t cleared up yet (my face or back!). I hope to get back to normal soon!
