Hell no! No-one has rights to your baby whether it be pre, during or post birth!

Stand your ground, you are not being unreasonable!

WTF!?  I would be mortified if my Father-In-Law or if Darling Husband had brothers, Brother-In-Law, wanted to be in there while I’m pushing a baby out of my vagina!  That is a hard HELL NO.  MAYBE, big MAYBE my Mother-In-Law if we were super close.  My own mother, is more likely to be a possilbility cause, well shes my mother!!  Otherwie, I agree… no one else needs to be in there but my husband.  Your in laws sound nuts, glad you and your husband shut that shit down.

I don’t get why mothers and espespecia mothers in law are surprised when they aren’t a wanted in I delivery room…

Even if for some reason SO wasn’t there i would have had my best friend instead… When i was little and we were watching only fools and horses and there was a birth scene. My mum told me right there and then she would never be in the delivery room!

Good luck. Hold your ground! You’ll feel great for doing so

The only person who will know that I’m in labor, besides my husband, will be my little sister who is taking my dogs. No one but my husband and the medical staff will be there. Labor is messy and all modesty goes out the door. I would absolutely not want my Father-In-Law and Brother-In-Law there. How awkward. Where I’m delivering, you only get two people anyway. Do they expect your husband to step out while you’re pushing? Plus, it could be hours before the baby comes. I wouldn’t want the pressure of them waiting around.
