So I was just wondering for those with pets have your pets reacted differently to you or acted different in anyway since your pregnancy?
My cat could really care less, but our dog she wants to be right by my side all the time and she’s more the I’m going to lay on my bed let me know if you need me type. But ever since my bfp and a little before she just clings to me and is very sensitive to anything outside she alerts us to every little sound. It’s kind of cute, I thought it was all in my head till I read this article.
I also distinctly remember my mom’s cat playing with my little sister when she was in the womb. He would sit on my mom’s stomach and listen to her move and put his paws where she kicked and they would play this strange little paw kicking game, I’m sure he just thought their was a mouse in there but it was cute either way.
Anyone else notice their pets treating them differently now that there’s a baby on board?

We have two dogs and a cat. The cat acts no different than she ever has, she is very independant. One of our dogs is incredibly cuddly all the time and I don’t feel like she is acting a lot different, either.
On the other hand our male dog, who has been a momma’s boy for the last few years has been acting out more often in search of attention. I wonder if he senses a change in priorities, or sees that we are busy getting things ready for baby. He has been extra rotten. 🙂
The baby has kicked our female dog in the face multiple times though, she loves to use my round belly as her personal pillow when she lays on the couch. I don’t know that she knows what to think.

I have a cat that likes being everywhere I am (even follows me to the bathroom when I’m going to pee most times) and acts like an actual baby- he goes as far as raising his front arms so that I can lift him like a child, among other things. The only difference I’ve noticed so far is that he stays clear of me when I’m making the toilet my best friend due to morning all day sickness. He crouches in the hallway and just sorta pokes his head around the doorway as if wondering “what the heck is she doing??” lol.

I have two dogs, one of which is off to training school but my little french bulldog went from laying sprawled out on his belly on the floor or further on the couch to right on top of my belly. This started before I even realized I was pregnant so I thought it was weird but definitely welcomed! i like when he snuggles with me especially since we don’t let him sleep in our bed. After I found out that I was already almost 2 months pregnant I realized that Pierre (my dog) may have known before I did that I was pregnant! After the indigestion and bloating started I have to push him off my belly, but he’ll just lay his body next to my sides or lays his little head and paws on my belly only. I think it’s super sweet! Can’t wait for my other dog to come home and see what he does or if he notices!

I always wondered if my dog would act differently but so far he’s been exactly the same. I’m curious to see if that changes at all as the pregnancy progresses.

ohh ohh! I think my cats can tell. I have a girl and boy kitty and the girl kitty is not a snuggler.. tho she will from time to time sit on me.. she prefers my FI cause he doesnt try to smush her with kisses lol. My boy kitty doesnt mind so i smush him with kisses but hes more independent now too.. and they are both ALL over me! especially the girl kitty who usually hates me! I’m 11weeks pregnant and it started since we found out!
