I was induced at a week post-date. I was already 4cm, so that helped the induction be a success. If you go from ground zero, it’s harder.
I had a vaginal birth after 8.5 hrs of pit and 1 hr of pushing. I did end up with an epidural because they had the pit drip going too fast, so the pain was pretty intense. It was ok, though; the epidural was well-placed and I could feel ctx and knew when to push.

Thanks guys! I know its a crap shoot as to what happens, i hope that he isn’t going to be too stressed out about the induction being early, but its what has to happen for us him being born at 37 weeks. Fingers crossed my Blood pressure stays alright and we end up with the birth we want.
I have a sinking feeling it will end up in surgery, BUT i really really hope he is born vaginally as this is baby number one and we do want other children it would be nice to have to avoid any future surgeries!
I appreciate all the stories, and as of right now the poll is tied 50 / 50 on how the induction went. Very interesting!

Are VBACs (vaginal birth after c-section) not common in Canada? It’s increasingly common in the states.

@annifer: They are i think (havent looked into them in detail) but you have to wait a certain amount of years before having your next baby to have one done i believe. & we want to have our second child fairly close in age with this little boy.

My SIL was induced and ended up with a c-section. I think they rushed it though. She got induced at liek 10am and they did a c-section at like 12pm.

My SIL had 3 kids. 2 of the births were pitocin and then vaginal. 🙂 It’s possible! She was also induced before her due date for the last one.
Edited to Add more detail: She was induced at 7pm Friday night, 4 days before her due date, and had her baby Saturday at 2pm with no aid. (Vacuum, squat bar, forceps..etc.) This was her third child and he was 8.5lbs!
Also, she said that she was SO bored waiting for anything to happen. Bring lots to do! She failed her strep test and was hooked up to an IV for birth, so she was stuck in bed mostly and only had her phone, so it was all about facebook updating everyone pretty much until she was able to get the epidural!
