I find we all post about pregnancy a lot when we have negative symtoms (understandably as we want to figure out what’s wrong and make it better). But i have had no issues the past few weeks (as in – i haven’t had a migraine, yay!). So i thought it would be fun to start a thread on what our pregnancy perks are.
Mine are definitely my strong, fast growing nails. I’ve always had weak, easy peeling nails and i am just loving the nails i have now.
Another perk is now that i have finally accepted i have to gain all this weight, well, i am enjoying gaining it! It’s freeing. After spending my whole lofe obsessing and caring too much about my weight, i love just eating what i want when i am hungry (mostly healthy food of course, but the occasional guilt-free chocolate bar is amazing as well!). And with the weight gain acceptance comes the being so much less self-conscious in public. Like i was at the beach a couple of weeks ago and my stomach was protruding out. I didn’t care, i just let it hang, lol.
Oh and course a nice perk is the bigger boobs! I went from a B to a C cup so far and i quite like it.
Another perk, as weird as it may sound, is that by night time i am sooo exhausted that i fall asleep so easily! I usually have so much trouble falling asleep that i go to bed late and then not get enough sleep. But lately i have just been sleeping so soundly and for around 8 hours a night.
hmmm, i am sure there are more perks that i will add later. Now let’s hear yours ๐

I’m not that far along (just shy of 5 weeks) but my boobs are OUTSTANDING, LOL! I’m also loving how much I’m enjoying healthy eating. I don’t know if you’d call it cravings, but I just had a big bowl of steamed broccoli for lunch and I am one happy lady!! Nothing much else interested me, so I’ll have to get some chicken or edamame in me later to get some protein ๐

@babybuzz: i haven’t any intense cravings for one specific thing and i think that if you are eating a healthy, balanced diet, you won’t get too many cravings. At least i read that the cravings usually come from the fact that you are “missing” something you need. I do crave chocolate though and not sure how much i “need” it, lol. But then again, i’ve been craving chocolate for long before i ever became pregant.

The boobs are definitely a perk.
The first week and a half after I got my BPF, I really wanted smoothies, fruit, yoghurt, and veggies, and had no desire for fast food or sweets. I thought that this was so great and that healthy eating would be a breeze. Now that I get queasy, carbs is all I want. I can’t even look at yoghurt anymore.

I’m not TTC yet, but I like the idea of this thread! Makes future pregnancy seems not totally terrifying! I hope more post.

I can’t believe everyone is loving their boobs! I went from a C to a Dirty Delete and I hate them! Someone wants them lol
While I’m not a huge fan of being pregnant, one thing I do love is being waited on. My mom doesn’t want me bending to do laundry of food shopping so she takes care of it for me and Darling Husband does anything I ask. I think half the time it’s to make sure I don’t cry but hey I can’t complain. He never did much around the house and he helps out all the time.

I loved the natural boob enhancement!
People were crazy-nice. Everyone would open doors for me or ask if i needed help. That got even better once I gave birth and had a baby with me in public lol
I loved how think my hair got, and that it didnt fall out at all during my pregnancy (althought your body will make up for that PP)
I loved my pregnant body. I felt great and priveleged to be a woman with the ability to grow life ๐

Maternity Jeans! they are the most comfortable things ever and i wish i could wear them always. Maternity clothes in general…they are so soft!
@roxy821: not a fan of the boobs! i was a D to begin with and I don’t even want to talk about how big they are now. Its disgusting.

@totheislnds- Why I can’t wear them every day after?! LOL, they are the best. I love being able to have a stretchy waist and not be uncomfortable if I’m full. Maybe I’ll just pull them back out for holidays ๐

The boobs! I was a B before but now they are full and firm. Sometimes I rub them like a creep haha… I told my friend who just got her boobs done that they feel like hers now. She felt them and laughed saying, “Oh my…they do!”.
I am almost 14 weeks now, so I am not showing too much, but the people that know I am pregnant, are really nice to me.
My husband is besides himself. I came home to a fridge full of fruits, veggies and yogurt. He said, “You need to eat all of it!”. Errr… haha.
My libido is in high gear right now…. and the husband is finding me very attractive lately. I will leave it at that.
The ultrasounds! I love seeing the kidney bean moving his arms like he is playing the drums. I love hearing the heartbeat.

Hahaha, that’s awesome! My husband is the opposite of yours. He would suggest roast beef sandwiches for dinner and I have to keep reminding him about the things I can’t eat.

@Mrs. High Wire: yup, i have definitely felt this at my job!
@totheislnds: so true about the clothes. i feel like i am going out in PJs all the time, but i am actually quite styling AND super comfortable. why can’t all clothes be made like this?!
Another thing for me is: Starbucks Mochas! Reason is that Darling Husband and I go to Starbucks alot to get work done. We usually get regular coffees because it’s cheaper…but for the duration of my pregnancy i have rationalized spluriging on mochas. Why? because they have half the caffeine as a regular starbucks coffee (better for pregnancy to have less caffeine) and they give me a serving of milk/calcium (good for pregnancy). This is one of my favorite perks ๐
