Random question…I was feeling strange and had some random pregnancy tests hanging around, so I took a dollar tree pregancy test last week and it came up positive. I took another dollar tree test the next morning and it came up positive. I then took a clearblue test adn it came up negative. I took 2 more dollar tree tests that came up positive and then another clearblue test that came up negative. I took another dollar tree test that came out positive. I finally ran out of ones around my house and bought some more dollar tree tests. This 1 came back as negative.
So in total, I have 5 positives and 3 negatives. All in varying orders. What on earth is going on? I know I can go to the doctor and get confirmed, but I want to wait until I am more certain. I can’t remember when my period is due, but sometime this week. I also know that my already-owned dollar store tests are suppose to expire soon, but HAVE NOT expired yet.
What on earth is going on?!

Could the dollar store tests be more sensitive than the clear blue which is why they were giving positives? Did you test all in one day? Maybe your urine was diluted when you got the negative dollar store one.

Dollar tree tests show up positive 2-3 days before digitals. I would take a FRER first thing tomorrow morning.

I tested them all over a week period.
I think it could be the sensitivity, but I just don’t know. That was my first assumption

Any chance the dollar tree ones were ovulation tests? That’s the first thing that came to mind. I second the FRER suggestion!

This could be wrong, but I have heard that you are more likely to get a false negative, than you are to get a false possitive.

Can you post pics? Just curious what the lines look like. I trust dollar store tests more than clear blue, was it a line test or digital? Try a first response early result. It’s less likely to get a false positive, the negatives could be less sensitive tests, diluted urine, faulty tests etc.

Google says the same thing

they were very solid pink lines lol
ive been taking tests for years but have never gotten a positive. BUT I am wary since the positives were all from the same batch. I keep telling myself that the liklihood of getting 5 positives is VERY slim, but life is weird

Yea, I would get a FRER and test first thing in the morning.
Also, if you’ve been testing for a week, and your period isnt actually due yet it could just be that some of the tests arent as sensitive as others.

With all these results being all over the place I would call the doc to get a blood test. I had accurate results with Wal-Mart 88c tests also clear blue digital.

Also I don’t think the digital are as sensitive as the ones that are not. Wait a few days if you don’t go to the doc and try again with the digital. Good luck!!!!

I used a Wondfo 5dp5dt (10dpo) and got a squinter. Then I took a digital (the kind that says you are pregnant, not just the lines) 6dp5dt (11dpo) and got a positive. Did not have a strong line on the Wondfos until 13dpo or 14dpo.
So assuming your period is sometime this week–let’s say Friday is 14dpo, then today (monday) is 10dpo. Still very early, but can show up as a positive. So if you have som cheapies, then test tomorrow. But if you don’t wait until Wed or Thurs to test.

You also didn’t say how diluted your urine was or what time of day you got the negatives. If you had just peed then they can say negative because there’s not enough hormones to trigger the test. Stop using the clear blue, they aren’t that great. I’d go and get a First Response Early Result and test in the morning or after holding it for at least four hours. Generally you only get a positive if there’s HcG there. I think you’re pregnant!

False negatives are a lot more common than people think… I had several even after my period was already late…
With those positives, you must be producing HCG. I think you are pregnant as well. I second the others… test again in a few days time.
