Facebook is information overload. Pee sticks and all. I get tired of it from time to time and just ignore my account and focus on living my life instead! 🙂

I took a picture of it the same day, and posted it here on weddingbee the next day I think, but while we started telling family and friends right away, we didn’t do a facebook announcement until we hit the 12 week mark. By then I realized that I really didn’t want to post my pee stick. So instead I prepared this image (also my new weddingbee profile pic) using one i found online and pasting on our cartoon faces from vistaprint.

I didn’t post pics on facebook, but I did take a few for us to keep. Those pee sticks were the start of a crazy adventure!

So many people I know have lost their babies in the early stages. Some of these women had told everyone as soon as they found out they were pregnant. And months later when they would run in to people and were asked about it, they would have to go over the story again about losing the baby.

So I’ve always thought it was best to wait until you’re past your first trimester before announcing it.

So pictures of pregnancy tests on facebook is over the top.

Wouldn’t bother me at all – presumably the cap is back on the actual bit she wee’d on?

Edit – after the first trimester, of course.

I agree the preg tests pics on facebook are way too much.  I definitely consider that to be private.  I am borderline on the ultrasound photos… sometimes I think they are in bad taste, as well.  Or i worry about ‘jinxing’ … I don’t think I would announce it to the fb world before the 2nd trimester.  Family & close friends, yes… the internet, no.

I know someone who just posted not 1 but 2 photo’s of her positive pee sticks – this is beyond annoying. People – DO NOT DO THIS. Please – I don’t need to see 2 pee sticks to confirm that you are pregnant. This is seriously improper etiquette – even in cyber space. I hate to see what she will post next, it could become a very funny game, but she is in the family and now I will feel weird seeing her. She is friends with a lot of MALE family members – so I can’t imagine how weird they must feel seeing these posts. She is embarassing herself – and I am not gonna stop this immature train, I hope the Mother-In-Law says enough is enough.

I don’t see what the big deal is. I mean, it’s just pee. It’s not like you can smell it through the computer screen ^_^

Not a fan.  If you announce that you’re pregnant, I’ll believe you.  I really don’t need to see the stick you peed on.

Personally? I wouldn’t… Is it ‘tasteful’? not really in my oppinion. Does it hurt anyone? Only their eyes. Really, it’s their FB, they can post what they like, and people can choose to hide it from their newsfeed if it bothers them that much

I really don’t need the world to see the pee stick, me saying I’m pregnant is definitely enough! There’s a ton of stuff I’ve seen my SIL and friends do while pregnant that I cringed at and told DH we would never ever do that – this includes pictures of the test, the delivery, those maternity pics where the girl is practically naked and the guy is fondlign and kissing her stomach…no. Just no. He said that he bet I would change my mind once I was actually pregnant. And he was wrong!
