I was walking in the beginning and also using our wii fit. I had some spotting from weeks 8-11 which caused me to stop working out. I am now 26w5d and have been mostly walking. We have also gone bowling a few times.

I do a class that is yoga, pilates, and ballet combined. It’s a full body, tough workout. I was doing it for about 6 months before I got pregnant and, except for a few weeks in my first tri where I felt sick all the time, I have been going to an hour-long class 3-5 days a week and I’m now in my 8th month. We do light weight training, lots of stretching, isometric muscle strengthening of all body areas, and light cardio.

Of course listen to your doctor first and foremost, but all of the literature I’ve read, and the advice from my midwife, is that if you are healthy you can pretty much continue working out as you did before you got pregnant. The things I’ve been advised to avoid are lifting heavy weights, getting my heart rate above 140, overheating, and extreme torso twists. Basically, you should be fine if you can carry on a conversation while you are working out.

Strengthening exercises and stretching are wonderful to keep your body strong and limber for labor and recovery, and keeping your cardiovascular system healthy will totally help with the hard work part of labor.

I was doing a lot of hill walking every night until I got sciatica around 6 mos.  Now I just lay on the couch and call it good.  Can’t wait for the LO to be born so I can get back to running!

Still doing all the same stuff I did pre-pregnancy: crossfit 2x/week, walking 5km a couple times a week and also some prenatal power yoga.

ETA: I’ll be 20 weeks tomorrow.

I’ve been doing Physique 57 videos.  I was also doing some jogging earlier, but then I had some spottiing, and my doctor told me not to excercise for 2 weeks.  I just started back with the videos, but I’ve not been jogging anymore. I’m almost 9 weeks along.

Unless you start a radically different workout program, you’re likely not going to overdo it. And if you do? Your body will tell you. 🙂
