@soccergal7898:  Awesome! I would confirm with the doctor and find out next steps. Then plan a little surprise dinner for your hubby 🙂 🙂

Start sleeping now. Haha I have a three week old who sleeps fairly we’ll, and we’re still sleep deprived! Oh, and get a prenatal. Congrats!

congrats! call your doctor and let them know. THey likely won’t schedule an appointment for you until 8 weeks or so. Until then, take your prenatals and eat as healthy as possible now until morning sickness and food aversions set in (if you’re so lucky to experience that!)

@soccergal7898:  Congratulations! ! As for prenatals my dr just said make sure it has DHA and Folic acid and iron. Most of the OTC ones do. They can write u an rx for 1 and then ins will cover it but its really the same stuff u can get OTC. Calling your dr. Can give you some more advice. Definitely tell your SO. Celebrate together. Happy and healthy 9 months ahead for u

@soccergal7898:  my ob didn’t really care what vitamin it was as long as I took it. I’m vegan, so my requirements were different from most. I started taking one, but it was a horse pill… And I had terrible morning sickness, so I changed to a chewable. I’m still taking it since I’m nursing, and we’re both healthy.

By the time most people find out they are pregnant, neural tube development has finished, which is the main thing the folic acid in prenatals assists. So there’s probably no need to freak out and guzzle folic acid if you weren’t already taking it. That being said, your body needs more nutrients, so you may choose to supplement with vitamins (a prenatal multi being one choice of many) or simply fortify your diet.

Let your doctor know– some may choose to see you immediately and some may wait until 8 weeks. Enjoy!
