So i just found out i am pregnant…about 7 weeks now. and my wedding is Sept 14th. I am freaking out about being able to fit into my dress (given that I spent so much on it). Im trying to work out everyday and keep the weight down as much as possible (without putting my baby in harms way) i was just wondering if anyone knew some special workouts/tricks to get my arms into good shape (strapless dress) and to keep my weight gain to the absolute minimum required??? HELP!

@mrspittman0914: Congrats! I was told that I could do the same workouts, but with lighter weights and more reps. The doctor recommended that I use the machines instead of free weights.
I would like to point out that there were days when I just couldn’t go to the gym due to fatigue and lack of energy from having no appetite. Be sure to eat right, don’t over do it at the gym, and take care of yourself.
ETA: I forgot to mention that if you need some SPANX to fit into your wedding dress, there are Mama Spanx. They are made for pregnant women. So that is another option for you.

First of all, congrats! Second of all, let’s see you’ll be about 14 weeks at your wedding? The good news is, a lot of people aren’t showing or are barely showing at 14 weeks. Especially if this is your first, you may very well be just fine fitting into your wedding dress.
What style is your wedding dress? If it’s a-line, empire waisted, or more flowly, it’s even less likely that you will not fit into it. If your dress is really form-fitting (like trumpet or something similar), it’s possible you may need some last minute alterations. If you’re comfortable with it, I would tell your alterations person now, so he/she is prepared for possible (although not likely) last minute alterations.
Finally, weight gain. The good news is that many people experience little weight gain in the first trimester. It’s not until the end of the second trimester and third trimester that you need to really gain weight. You can see by this chart, that for a normal pregnancy, it is recommended to gain around 10 pounds by week 14. Of course, some people gain a little more, some people gain a little less; it all depends on your individual body. In the meantime, you can keep yourself and the baby healthy by remaining within your calorie recommendations, exercising, and staying hydrated. 🙂

@mrspittman0914: Congrats! Such an exciting time!
I was 13 weeks pregnant at our wedding! And was able to fit in my dress without a problem. I was super nervous as well since I had bought the dress 18 months before the wedding and never had a single alteration done (it fit perfect from day one and I bought a petite to avoid alterations) and still fit the same on our wedding day. I’ll also add that I was not working out or doing anything to keep the weight down, so I would just try to relax and enjoy the pregnant glow! You’ll make a beautiful mama-to-be bride!

Congrats! I echo the others’ comments that you will probably not be showing or barely showing – just leave your alterations for closer to the wedding : )

Congrats! Like @Mrs. Spring: said, you probably won’t be showing at 14 weeks. In fact, I know some people who actually lost weight in the first few months of their pregnancy because so many of the nutrients and energy were going to the baby but the baby growth weight hadn’t caught on yet. They were still eating plenty, though.
As far as weightloss and exercize go, I’ve been told that as long as you were active right before your pregnancy, you can keep doing the same things. You should never start exercizing more in your first trimester, though – so, if you weren’t in hardcore weight and/or cardio classes before baby, for example, now is not a goosd time to start.
Obviously I’m no doctor and you should follow what your doctor tells you, though. I wish you the best with your wedding and baby coming!
