1. I’ve been meaning to join this thread for awhile but have been coo-coo busy…and now i’m super excited to be here:)
2. CONGRATS to all the ladies who came from the 6months&up boards! I am so so so happy to see you here=) reunited and it feeeells so gooooood!
How long TTC: 8 months.
Brief TTC Background Refresher: It was nothing. Thank goodness. Basically i’d been on BC since I was 16 and it took 6 months for my body to even ovulate. At the 6 month mark, I ovulated. For some reason or another I didn’t get pregnant that cycle…cycle 7: hmm, nothing. So, I started to be a anal about it. I started having sex like 2x a day and hanging my legs in the air and BOOM…cycle 8=BFP
First child?: Yes.
How far along/EDD: 21w2d DD: OCT 12
Gender: Baby Boy!
Milestones: SO.MUCH.MOVEMENT! Also: now my stomach is actually super hard and very apparent. From here on out its just boring and waiting until birth! AH…
Struggles: Physically: sleep is tough because my belly is hard. nothing else, really…Emotionally: I’ve stopped worrying as much but I still am obsessed with reading and googling which I know I need to slow down at this point.
What are you most fearful/concerned about: actually….not having enough time. I’m due in 4 months and although we have everything planned…I havent actually executed anything yet. I think in a week or 2 i’ll order EVERYTHING at once for his room. Then my shower will a month from now….I think by my due date I would have barely finished.

@Running Elley: Your crystal light idea was great. I actually was going to get some, but then I saw this Rasberry Lemonade and it was heaven. I think we are going to use our shirts for my DDs that I had bought before I had my MC and make a Father’s day card for our Dad’s and Grandpa’s. I am not 100% I can though, the shirts might be a jinx.

@Running Elley: ok so I can’t remember if it was here you mentioned it or on Fall Babes but you said you worry about premature labor. Is that because of progesterone? Because I read up on how women with low P can go into early labor and I’ve read how women who walk into the hospitalw ith early labor are oftentime injected with P and sent home because P can allow the body to labor at its due time. I don’t know enough about it though…..how early are we talkin?! *yikes*
@ieatunicorns: jinx my butt…ENJOY YOUR PREGNANCY! That idea sounds so cute!

@ieatunicorns: Crystal light is seriously how I got my fluids for the first tri and the first part of the 2nd tri π It was a godsend! I think the shirts idea is adorable, go for it!!! Change those shirts into good luck charms π
@TurtleDoves: Oh gosh lol. I’m a hypochondriac when it comes to pregnancy….basically. I had low P in the beginning of pregnancy (like you, obviously) but that whole issue should be done with as soon as the placenta takes over. The people who go into pre-term labor or who have a history of early labor (early like anytime after 18 weeks) are usually treated with P injections. I thought that FOR SURE those 2 things (my low P early in PG and low P later causing early labor/birth) were connected. I was wrong. I talked to both my normal OB and my perinatologist (high risk doctor) and they both told me without a shadow of a doubt that there is NO research to support a connection like that. The two progesterone issues are totally different things. Women who have low P in the first trimester are no more likely to experience premature labor than just the average woman. Seriously NO research. They both told me that I could continue taking a P suppository here or there because it can’t hurt baby (no such thing as too much P) but that it was completely pointless to do so at this stage.
Just to note, I am still worried about preterm labor but only because I’m a worrywart and until I get to 24 weeks I will worry about that even though I have no cause to do so.

@dodgercpkl: Sorry π
Girls, I’m getting sick! As in nausea. It’s nearly unbearable for a few hours at a time butOno puking yet. Today is the first day I thought I might. I’m starving at every moment but literally nothing sounds appetizing. Any advice?

@JaneyD: Toast, fruit, soup, mashed potatoes, crackers, cereal, jello. Stick with bland foods. Small frequent snacking helps keep the stomach settles. The best thing I have tried is shakes/ice cream- it is tolerated well in the stomach (we actually recomed it to chemo patients) and counts as fluids:)

@Running Elley: Ok gotchya. Phew!
Question for all: does preterm labor automatically mean c-section? God forbid a mom goes into labor at say…27 weeks….does that mean they will actually let her labor for hours and with an epi and all that if the baby is that tiny? I fear c-sections JUST AS MUCH as I fear an early labor. Well, nearly as much….
@JaneyD: omgosh i’m so sorry. That feeling is terrible…and from my experience: nothing helped me. So, I have no advice BUT I have words of hope: it.gets.better. I Swear. I was suicidal when I was in my first tri and I told my husband I hated pregnancy …but now:) hehe…i’m back to my old self. It’ll get better!

@JaneyD: So, I’m sorry you’re feeling sick, but YAY! Such a good sign :o) Things that settled my stomach were ginger ale and anything citrus…like lemonade watered down. Crackers of course…I found that keeping a snack on hand at all times just to keep my stomach slightly full helped. Of course there were times that I never wanted to eat anything!
@TurtleDoves: I don’t think pre-term labor necessarily means c-section. My DH’s friend’s wife went into preterm labor at 30 weeks b/c they couldn’t stop her cervix from dilating. She had the baby naturally.
