We are getting married in Four months and we just found out Im pregnant. I will be 5 1/2 to 6 months pregnant at time of our wedding. I already have the dress but its being made and they need the final measurements in middle of april. Its a two piece high waisted dress, but Im worried that its going to look ridiculous or not fit. Its the dress that Ive always wanted, and my fiance and family thinks I should just submit measurements and allow final adjustments made to allow room in the belly. Just curious if anyone has any thoughts

I would talk to your seamstress and see what changes they suggest. Since the dress hasn’t been finished yet you might be able to do a variation of the style you chose to accomadate and flatter your belly. And Congratulations~

If it makes you feel better, at 5 1/2 months, I wasn’t showing hardly at all. I could have worn my wedding dress without problem. Not so now at 33 weeks, but I suppose that’s to be expected 🙂

I agree with roxy. Speak with your seamstress now so you can plan things out in advance. CONGRATS on your pregnancy!

You WONT be showing THAT much. Just tell the seamstress and see what she can do…elastic maybe…?

I think you will be okay but do speak to your seamstress they may have experience with this!

Since everyone’s body is different I wouldn’t take the chance. Just speak with her. I was definitely showing as early as 3 1/2 to 4 months and would have never fit my dress. Just as a CYA, I would chat with her.

Third the advice to talk to your seamstress and read Mrs. Dumpling’s posts.
