Hello! I am a type 1 diabetic. I am not pregnant but I was earlier last year. I ended up MC due to out of control sugars. Once I found out I was pregnant I got my act together but it was to late to save the pregnancy. I hope you started taking your insulin. Even after your pregnancy I really urge you to keep it up. I was the worst diabetic in the world for a long time. Everyone asked if I took my insulin and I would say yes but I wasn’t. I can’t begin to tell you how badly I regret now & how much pain & problems I have been through for not taking my insulin. I have only had diabetes for 8 years now & my feet and legs cause me so much pain sometimes its unreal & that is WITH my sugars in control! I am the best diabetic ever now. πŸ™‚ & Plan to stay that way!

But I am not here to preach just here for support & you can private msg me anytime! I know how hard it is to live a life that is not normal. I know how it is to have to prick you finger 5-8 times a day, to take a shot every time you eat & to always have to worry & wonder will there ever be a cure.

Oh & sharing my MC with you was not meant to scare you or saying you will too. I just wanted you to know I have been there & I know how scary it is to find our your pregnant with out of control sugars.

@Danielle81: I was 9 weeks & so many days when I lost the baby & I found out at 6 weeks.

Oh so glad to know!! πŸ™‚ Have you seen a doctor yet? Mine let me know that my insulin intake could go up alot due to being pregnant & she was very correct! I had to start taking more insulin. (I have to take a shot every time I eat as long as the food/drink has carbs in it.) I can’t skip one shot! So maybe your doctor can talk with you about how much more insulin you will need to take per shot or maybe even have you take a shot for each meal. How does your dosage work? I go by every 10 carbs of food I have to take one unit of insulin. Maybe they will start doing that with you?

I Was 6 weeks when I found out I was pregnant.*

& For every 10 carbs I eat I have to take 1 unit. Sorry if I made it confusing in the first post. lol

Also I am on fast acting & slow release insulin. I was on novolog but switch to humilin for my fast acting insulin due to it being cheaper & lantus for my slow realse insulin. Maybe you might have to change your inlusin.

@Danielle81:  I know its so so sooo scary! πŸ™ You should get some low carb snacks for the cravings. Cubed cheese, bacon, jerky, rice cakes, pork rinds & lots more that I can’t think of right now.. Oh one yummy one is celery with peanut butter too! πŸ™‚

Once you figure out how much more insulin you need to take while pregant you should get right back on track pretty soon! I did but like I said it was to late for my pregnancy, but I really tried! I wish yu all of the best & luck in the world! Hubby & I plan to try again we just haven’t decided when just yet but its just so scary.
