is 4 months even enoguh time to order a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress if u were to wait?  i would make this decision based on the type of girl she is – is she always looking to eat healthy, work out and maintain her shape?  if so, order it now because chances are 4 months after birth, she will be back to or very close to her size – maybe get 1 or 2 sizes bigger just in case.  if not, i would wait for 4 months before the wedding, but i’m not even sure that’s enuogh time??

@futuremrsk18:  +1

Just order her dress a size or two bigger so that it’ll still fit if she puts on weight, but if she goes back to her original size she can just have it altered.

@futuremrsk18:   hmmm I’m not sure about this. I’m small and in shape and i was HUGE for about 7 months after the birth. Everyone loses weight differently and I wouldn’t count on her being within a size or two of normal that quickly. If it’s a very forgiving dress, flowy, etc then it should be fine but keep in mind boobs can be ginormous after a baby.

Like, I’m normally a 4 or 6 but I was wearing a 12 that soon after the birth. Yes, I was huge. But it’s gone now!

(edit: I’m not implying a 12 is huge. It’s just bigger than I was)

Just ask the salon. I have a pregnant bm, and they were very helpful with the sizing of the dress. I think they recommended one or two sizes up.

You may want to choose an uncomplicated style that would be easy to alter in a hurry, and just ask Bridesmaid or Best Man whether you think it would make sense to buy a dress in her current size or something different. A couple of extra sizes couldn’t hurt–it would be easier to take it in than let it out. Is this her first pregnancy?

@peanutbutter1205: A size 12 is huge? Ouch! There are a lot of size 12 and larger brides on these boards!

I said it’s not huge! but for anyone to be 4 sizes larger than normal would be huge to them. that’s all i meant. no offense intended!
