I’ve read that pregnant maids should just order the dress two sizes larger than what they normally will, and then have it altered later.

@pinotgrigio:  So your Bridesmaid or Best Man will have the baby about 6 months before your wedding? I would wait. Our Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses took 4 months to come in. If she goes for her fitting in the beginning of March she will be fine…

HOWEVER: All of your BMS dresses will be sent in once the last person gets measured to make sure the fabric is all the same. You MIGHT run into the problem of the dress being discontinued between now and then. I am speaking from experience and having to scramble to pick new dresses only a month after we originally picked them. If  you LOVE this dress, have her be fitted now and for the hips they can just measure under her belly. Worst case, she will be smaller in August then now and will need to get it taken in.

Amsale has some gorgeous and chic actual maternity gowns! One of my girls is getting it.. Honestly it’s still so pretty and fashion forward!

David’s is usually full of BS, in an effort to get you to commit and order NOW so they have your money.  They told me the same thing about my wedding dress.  I ordered it online instead and had it in 3 days.  I had bridesmaids experience the same thing.

If you notice, you can order that dress online, and I’d guess it would arrive just as fast as my wedding dress and my bridesmaids dresses.  In any case, I’d wait to have her fitted.
